Panic attacks after exercise, eating, or a stressful day, and ONLY at night...?
The women in my family are noted for having panic attacks. Cardiovascularly they have NO issues. My heart has been tested, all through my life (they thought I had rhuematic fever as a child, so they watched me like a hawk).
However, without knowing that for a fact myself, and anyone else around me, would be CONVINCED iam having a heart attack any time after I exercise (which i havent done much of as this has only started to happen since I had my son 12 months ago), oe after I eat a big meal and then laugh, or just laugh real hard for the hell of it, or if Ive have a rough day, especially if it envolved eating sugar and or caffeine.
But the thing is these attacks ONLY happen at night, once iam sitting down. Or going to bed. Or in bed.
Its really driving me mad. Theres nothing physically wrong with me. I have no heart disease, my BP is healthy, my heart is healthy the rest of me is healthy "as a horse" to quote the doctor.
Why cant I just feel okay? Its starting to run my life...
Ive had panic attacks for about 12 years now, since I was about 12.
I am NOT over weight. Iam 24. 5' 7" and 135 pounds. I probably could eat better, but not by much.
I miss being able to run a mile in 5 minutes, I miss having a 6 pack... I miss being in shape.. but these attacks are so difficult to get over.
The stupid thing is, if iam in the middle of one at night, and my son cries and I have to go take care of him, i forget about the attack and pretty soon iam over it.
I get these cold sweats, tightness in my chest with pain, difficulting breathing, hear flutters, and shaking. Thats the attack. I can talk myself out of it, but it takes a long while.
These things are REALLY annoying..

Welcome to the world of anxiety. I'm not trying to be funny either. It definitely sounds like a anxiety/panic attack. Do you get sweaty palms, heart racing, fear for no reason? Anxiety attacks can do wonders and play tricks on you and your mind. I have been suffering with Generalized Anxiety Disorder for 15 years and it's not fun, your right it does ruin your life. I would talk to your doctor about this, especially if your healthy as a horse. Exercise usually rids the attacks, fast walking, cardio workouts. If it's "only at night" rings a bell so true to my heart. That's how it started for me. I wish you well.
