Can you use draino or liquid plumber on a toilet?
Okay, so my toilet has been backed up for a while. It won't flush without overflowing. There must be something in there but I've plungered it countless times with no response. I think it's a combination of too much water in it and the water is draining super slow. What do I do? Can I use the same stuff you use on backed up sinks? If not, what can I use? Thank you so much!

Do NOT use chemicals such as Drano in a toilet. they get very hot and can crack the bowl. I would suggest trying a Closet Auger first (you can rent or buy these). they clean out the bowls trap without scratching. If that doesn't work, you will need to remove the toilet and snake the drainline.

If all else fails just pull the toilet off and take it outside on the lawn. Flip it over and take the garden hose to it. All you will need to re-install is a new wax ring for about $5. Any decent handy man/person should be able to get a toilet out in 10 minutes tops.

Drano won't hurt the toilet, but the clog is generally past the bend in the drain line, so the chemicals won't get to it.
The best thing for a toilet is to get a good old-fashioned plunger (preferably the convex ball kind, but the suction cup kind works, too). Fill the toilet with water, put the plunger in an pump HARD. I know you already did it, but you have to hit it like those people making lemonade at Hot Dog on a Stick. You can't be gentle about it, that won't work. It may splash, so don't be wearing your nicest clothes.
It's dirty business, especially if someone used the toilet before it got clogged. If you find it distasteful, get your husband or boyfriend to do it, and offer him a treat afterward.

No, you can't use drain cleaners on toilets and the packages even state as much.

Snake the line, you can buy one at Home Depot, or call a certified plumber.
