Christians do you believe, when we give an answer to a question, we will be accontable for what we say?

James 3:1 Not many of you should presume to be teachers; my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.

Update:

Dantes, I don't mean me can't teach God's word, the Bible said that what we teach should be correct. If we don't know the answer, we should not try to answer it and let those that do know the answer be the one to answer it.

    OH! My beloved sister in Christ.

    You just do not know the truth behind what you just asked.

    There are just too many scriptures to list concerning this and since I have been advised that I list too many scriptures in my answers and my answers are too long I am taking a look at myself and evaluating that constructive criticism that came from someone. However the one that gave that constructive criticism will have to give an account as each of us will as to the reason we say things. That could be for a pat on the back, getting the best answer points, causing strife or division, for any self gain, or for the glory of God. We must all be judged for what we have done both good and bad. Those works that go through the fire of God's judgment and come forth as gold tried in the fire will stand for the glory of God and those things that are wood, hay , stubble will not but will be burned up. For those works that were not done in love and for the glory of God we will suffer loss. But praise be unto God:

    1Cr 3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, [even] as unto babes in Christ.

    1Cr 3:2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able [to bear it], neither yet now are ye able.

    1Cr 3:3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas [there is] among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

    1Cr 3:4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I [am] of Apollos; are ye not carnal?

    1Cr 3:5 Who then is Paul, and who [is] Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?

    1Cr 3:6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

    1Cr 3:7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

    1Cr 3:8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.

    1Cr 3:9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, [ye are] God's building.

    1Cr 3:10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.

    1Cr 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

    1Cr 3:12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;

    1Cr 3:13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

    1Cr 3:14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

    1Cr 3:15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

    1Cr 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and [that] the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

    1Cr 3:17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which [temple] ye are.

    1Cr 3:18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.

    1Cr 3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

    1Cr 3:20 And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.

    1Cr 3:21 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours;

    1Cr 3:22 Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours;

    1Cr 3:23 And ye are Christ's; and Christ [is] God's.

    We must be extremely careful how we answer each question and what questions we ask.

    My sincere apology to anyone out there who hates the fact that I list scriptures. But if I obey man rather than God I make myelf as a puff of wind in the air. However if I obey God and not man I can not fail.

    If you don't know what you are doing or saying is wrong it isn't considered a sin. If it were then everyone would go straight to hell, because everyone makes mistakes, and some cultures are never even exposed to Christianity, do you think people who are never exposed to Christianity will burn in hell, I don't, as a matter of fact I don't believe any human will burn in hell, I believe hell is reserved for Satan and his demons, humans will just cease to exist. Just because the majority believes something, it doesn't mean that belief is correct. The majority chose to crucify Jesus on the cross for being a blasphemer, did that make them correct or did it make them brainwashed into not knowing the truth when it was right there before their eyes? ;-)

    I believe we will, especially if we teach a different Gospel.

    Galatians 1

    No Other Gospel

    6I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! 9As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!

    Absolutely, those who teach are in a very important position. Any authority of any sort usually has a greater ability for persuasion than others. And if we presume to be wise and possessing sound doctrine, yet espouse falsehood, we can have an immensely negative effect on the masses.

    Yes, and I answer to what I believe. Every idle word, we say will have to be accounted for. And when I know it wrong I say it's wrong. I am not very popular, but that's OK too. But I do answer, and even try to do it with some humor, if at all possible. But some questions need to be answered, with just the plain honest truth. .God Blessing to all.

    Yes, we are all accountable for what we say and you have pointed out a very nice quote from James supporting this as well.

    I'm familiar with the verse but tell me, how are you supposed to "go out and make disciples" without providing answers to honest questions from folks?

    Are people just supposed to become disciples without learning?

    Yes. Scary. Sometimes I go back and delete answers that I later realize were crummy.

    Yes we are, we should not put out false knowledge. If we did, it would be a lie

    God Bless You

    Yes I do- we will be held accountable for everything we do and say- and I choose to do all I can to represent my Jesus.
