My dishwasher has stale water sitting at the bottom of it. What should I use to unclog it?
I've been told CLR works but I didn't know that was for clogs. I thought just Calcium Lime and Rust. I've also been told that you can't use Drano.

there is probably some debris that is blocking the water from getting to the pump
remove the bottom rack
the spray arm should lift or twist off
under this is a screen mesh and glass catch around the base of the spray arm that should lift out
under this should be where the water must exit
-check for any debris (broken glass/bone fragments/etc)
vacuum out with a wet/vac if you have one
reassemble
also check the plastic drain tube connected to your kitchen sink drain
this drain hose is connected to the sink drain with a rubber fitting and hose clamp
undo the hose clamp and check if its clogged with debris
reattach to the drain
start the dishwasher and check periodically if its draining
this should get you on the right track

I get this quite often with my dishwasher, its where the waste pipe has clogged, you will need to remove it from under the sink or where ever the waste pipe is connected to and use a drain snake to try and dislodge the blockage, i also usually stick some cilit bang grease and floor down the pipe as well and in the machine the put it on a rinse cycle to give it a good clean

It's normal for dishwashers to have some water left over since they pump the water out. Unless it's not emptying the water out at all, you probably don't have a problem.

It is probably not clogged.
A dishwasher has to pump the water out of the bottom. It does not work like a regular sink drain. It sounds like the dishwasher is broken. The pump maybe broken. You need to call a service company to come and fix it.

Follow TnA Inc. instructions. If you get it to drain you can clean the tub by running an empty load and adding one cup of orange Tang powder (yes, the breakfast drink) this will clean and whiten tub. Otherwise if you still can't get it to work, then i need brand name and how old it is and I'll be able to help you further.

Depending on how much water is down there,it's supposed to be there. Read your owner's manual.
