can any one explain non-conventional energy - conversion of (ocean) thermal energy to electricity?
Ocean Thermal Energy conversion - project on converting thermal energy to electricity e.g. below 100Metre temperature will be very low and ocean surface energy will be above ambient temperature. - this conversion generate heat and can produce electricity. can any one explain on this project.

the, as you know, when we compare soil and water, water has a higher heat capacity, and it is also much larger than land. so actually, there is a lot of heat energy stored in the oceans. thus, it is much more efficient than we what we'd get on land.
then, also due to it's higher heat capaicity, it cools down slower than earth, and before it gets cooled down too much, more heat energy is abosorbed once again when the sun is up, so there is less energy loss.
heat is turned into electricity. now i don't really know the mechanics of it, but what i do know is that energy is never lost, it gets tranformed. they may use the heat to burn water to generate engines to produce electricity, whatever, but the heat energy gets tranformed by some ways to become electricity.

The impacts are simple: (1) We get abundant, renewable, clean energy. (2) We get a bunch of people complaining that taking up a few acres of ocean and drawing water is going to kill the one-eyed, eight-finned, backward-swimming Gillygoofang that has been confirmed to have absolutely no worth to the Earth biosphere... ... y'know, just as a (fictional) example. Tree-huggers, but ocean-going.
