what is SUPER TUESDAY?

Super Tuesday is sort of a big day for the Democratic and Republican party. It holds 24 states to either have a caucus, primary, or state convention. So far California is the biggie because it holds 150+ delegates. The big thing here is that whoever in the Democrats gain at least 2010 delegates and whoever in the Republican side gets 1900+ (I'm not sure how many) delegates will win Super Tuesday.

simply and quickly stated, these are the primaries, meaning we the people of the united states must narrow down the candidates on each side (republican and democrat) to ONE candidate. then in the general election in november, we choose one of the two.

also, super tuesday is a term used for todays elections because this is the day when the majority of the primaries and caucuses are held. 24 out of 50 states vote today. around 5 to 10 have already voted, and the remaining states will vote in some near future date.

with that being said, super tuesday is just a term used to refer to the fact that so many states are voting on the same day for the primaries. it has nothing to do with being 2 days after superbowl sunday or the fact that today is pancake tuesday in europe and canada, lol, or fat tuesday with madi gras approaching!

obama and mccain. besides the fact that i think of democrats are so close, that super tuesday won't likely settle on the nominations in spite of the undeniable fact that. McCain could take this one, whether i like Romney.

24 states will vote for Dems or Republicans, that's it. If you come to my arms (this tuesday) it will be super Tuesday for me!

they are narrowing it down to which democrat and which republican will run for the presidency in November.
