Dems: can we really disagree with this statement: If we nominate Hilary, we elect McCain?

The GOP is fractured and they do not like the guy who is winning. So why are we going to revitalize their base by giving them another Clinton to run against?

Am I wrong here? Does anyone on the blue team really think that Hillary can beat McCain?

Does anyone at all think that Obama wouldn't win a landslide?

I wouldn't vote for Obama, I don't think we need a visionary, I think we need a pragmatist and thats what I like about Hillary.

If you look at raw numbers Democrats are far more votes than Republicans, many Democrats crossed to Reagan and stayed there, but not any more. So yes, Hillary can beat McCain, as can Obama, unless, as has happened before, the campaign goes on vacation while the opposition cooks and creams our goose. I don't see that happening with Hillary, she never underestimates them, never thinks they are better than they are, never lets the sun set on a lie or a smear.

The Clintons run tight campaigns. No one is going to swiftboat them.

Well that match up is what a lot on the GOP are seeing as the analysis. McCain has lots of crosssover and independent appeal, Hillary is hated by most non-democrats. And Hillary would be the single most unifying force of the republican party. This is going to be a poor year for the GOP, almost any democrat would have a chance this year, so tt doesnt guarrentee he will win, but most GOP party strategists and politcal wonks would much rather have McCain running against Hillary rather then Obama.

I think that Hillary can beat McCain because of what you said about McCain. A lot of Republicans will sit at home and not vote now that McCain is probably going to be their nominee. All the democrats will still show up to support Clinton. Also, the voter turnout in the primaries has been much much higher for the Democrats than Republicans.

I really don't understand the Dems.

Bush's ratings are some of the lowest in history. None of the Republican nominees want to be caught near him, for fear of being dragged down with his Titanic-like numbers. The Democrats are poised to take the White House. All they have to do is nominate a ham sandwich or a lump of coal, and that would probably win over the Republican nominee.

The Dems started with some solid candidates . . . Biden, Richardson and Dodd. All three had a wealth of expereince, and I think any one of them would have been the next President. However, who are the Democrats going to nominate? The only person in the field that has an over 50% negative rating. It's like they want to throw the election away.

I believe Hillary can beat McCain. As could Obama. The choices the Repulicans have reminds of the choices the Democrats were faced with 8 years ago.

REALLY? Dems believe that if Hillary is up against McCain, McCain will win?????? Are you serious? I'm conservative and I could NEVER vote for McCain. He's way too liberal. I'd rather Hillary take the White House. At least that way, I can blame the Dems when things go from bad to worse!!! : )

If the Republicans had not voted to nominate McCain, then the Republicans wouldn't have to fear about who the Democrats nominated. I would personally prefer Clinton to Obama. My original candidate dropped out last week, so this is the lesser of two evils. Now as to whether I vote for Clinton in the end...that has to remain to be seen.

Yeah, I think its possible that Clinton may beat McCain.

Yeah, I think Obama would have a better chance.

Senator Clinton may be devisive - a lot of people love hating her. However, there also seem to be a pile of people who just plain love her.

Most important, however, is that the Democrats are just plain pissed off at the current administration and are highly likely to vote, while the Republicans are (justifiably) demoralized.

There are a lot of Democrats who would prefer Obama but would never-the-less vote for Clinton over McCain.

I am a conservative that will vote Obama over McCain, but not Hillary. I hate McCain, and want to lose this election rather than see him win, so please Dem's - vote Obama so I have a choice.

The only difference between Hillary and McCain is the party they take their money from, but McCain is more likable, so he will win if you nominate Hillary.
