Just so I have this one straight. . .?
If the president lies you into a war, sleepwalks through national security until the largest terrorist attack in history hits our shores, destroys the economy, and surrounds himself with corruption that would shame Grant it is high treason to question him
-but-
it's perfectly fine to hope out loud that the president elected in a landslide to clean up the mess fails, no matter what the country looks like after the hypothetical failure. That's not shallow partisanship at all, it's "straight shooting."
I guess the question is who really hates America?
9 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWho really has the better energy plan?
John McCain: Drill, drill, drill and then maybe in 2030 gas prices will be $0.06 less/gal
http://www.eia.doe.gov/oiaf/aeo/otheranalysis/ongr...
<or>
Barack Obama: Keep your car in shape (yes, inflate the tires and tune it up) to save $0.32/gal today
http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/maintain.shtml
and release ten percent of the Strategic Oil reserve to cut crude prices in half and lower gas $0.80/gal in a few days?
http://money.cnn.com/2008/08/04/news/economy/obama...
Which is better?
Who benefits most from each plan?
16 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhen is all of this oil drilling going to lower gas prices? How much will it lower them?
Let's say that the offshore oil drilling ban were lifted tomorrow and every drill was up and running. Does anyone believe that gas prices will go down soon?
One study says 2025:
http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/20...
One study says five years, but only nine cents a gallon:
http://finance.boston.com/boston?GUID=5773976&Page...
The US energy information administration says: "access to the Pacific, Atlantic, and eastern Gulf regions would not have a significant impact on domestic crude oil and natural gas production or prices before 2030."
http://www.eia.doe.gov/oiaf/aeo/otheranalysis/ongr...
2030?!?!
I would like to see/hear the other side of this argument, please. Who is saying that drilling will impact sooner, where are they saying it, and what impact are they saying it will have?
4 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoSo, if you disagree with a question, just report it and it will get deleted, even if it is in compliance?
2 of my questions have been removed in the past several days. The questions were not in violation of any of the guidelines, yet when I appeal and point out that fact, I get the "no, we're leaving it down" form email and then absolute silence on repeated protests.
Has Yahoo! answers gotten this lazy? If so, why should I waste my time here?
5 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoShould John McCain just debate himself?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ajm5JTf7jZs&feature... (man, I miss Tim Russert)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ioy90nF2anI
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEtZlR3zp4c&feature...
These aren't 5 second snippets out of context. This is a man who has taken every position on every issue.
It seems that he should figure out which McCain is best suited to lead his party into the election before he starts to debate Barack Obama.
The thing that kills me is the way that he now runs on "Obama is a flip-flopper" and no one will call him out in the MSM.
When did the "Straight Talk Express" get bogged down in double talk?
11 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoIsn't the GOP supposed to be about personal freedom?
http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008/story?id=5...
Why, then, are they trying to mandate the size of my family? This isn't about surgical abortion, they want birth control, WHICH PREVENTS SURGICAL ABORTION, labeled as "abortion." How is this more personal freedom? Or do all of my gametes now (we're talking million) officially posess the rights of fully formed people?
Why is this okay for the government to control?
1 AnswerPolitics1 decade agoCan you believe that this person said that they didn't love America until a specific event happened?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4x7b5M2_8bY
Can we stop with the Michelle Obama crap now?
12 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoClinton Supporters: Are you REALLY going to vote McCain?!?!?!?
I understand that this process has left many of you with a bad taste in your mouth, but look at the facts for one moment, please:
There will be at least one if not two or three Supreme Court vacancies in the next four years. A McCain presidency will set the Court on a rightward tilt for 20 years!
John McCain is dead wrong on Iraq (when he can be bothered to remember pithy details like troop levels and who is fighting who in between shopping trips with the 87th Airborne and five Apaches covering him), the economy, health care, the GI Bill. . . he is the second coming of Bush!
John McCain is not the guy who ran in 2000 anymore. He has toed the party line along with Bush/Cheney and Karl Rove- selling his soul for the nomination.
Are you really going to promote more of the same from the GOP out of spite? Because your candidate didn't win?
20 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoOkay, Global Warming Deniers: Where did the Ice Go?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/6995999.stm
The Northwest Passage is now open. Where there used to be ice, there is no ice.
If there is no global warming, outside of Al Gore's head, where did the ice go?
Here's the Faux News link for those of you who only believe it if it's been well filtered:
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,261240,00.html
So did the ice get scared, or is it melting? By being warmed, maybe?
16 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhy didn't Hillary return fire on those Kosovo snipers?
She must have been packing heat right?
It's fun to watch the amorphous mass that is Hillary Clinton take on a new form every day. I can't wait to see who she'll be or what she'll stand for next week!
15 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoAre you having trouble looking up Obama's platform?
If you just parrot the same, tired "he has no plan" line, let me help you- name an issue where you are unclear about Barack Obama's position and I will personally go do the 20 seconds of research and answer it for you here.
Of course, in doing so I will also obliterate your lame argument so please fire away.
10 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoIf Hillary is now the shoo-in, why is she down 100 delegates still?
If my basketball team scores 10 more points than the other team in a quarter, but we're still down a hundred, I'm not sure I would act like I was winning the whole thing.
Of course, she is pretty much counting on the superdelegates to subvert the will of the people and install her as the nominee. That, or she will ensure that Obama does not win by doing McCain's dirty work for him before the general election, knowing that Obama will not get into a lie filled slime fest with her.
So is anyone else as disillusioned as I am, that every slimy political maneuver they could think of worked? Or that they claim a huge victory, even though they swung like 12 delegates?
5 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoIs this the new bottom of the barrel for Hillary? The Race Card?!?!?!?
http://trailblazers.beloblog.com/archives/2008/02/...
Of course, she has since "denounced and rejected" the comments. But come on. Is this really where this campaign is now?
Let's review:
"I'm the candidate" didn't work.
"Sweetheart Chicago deals" didn't work.
"Change you can xerox" didn't work.
"Meet me in Ohio" didn't work.
"Shame on you, Barack" didn't work.
I guess it's either "Obama hates hispanics" or more tears.
I'll say it- if she wins the nod, I'm done with the party. Hillary's is the worst campaign this side of K. Christian Rove.
Am I wrong here?
13 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoLast Hillary question of the day: Is experience a good thing even if it is experience in being wrong?
Hillary's platform seems to be that she has gained a wealth of experience by either:
a) sleeping with a sitting president
b) failing at health care reform
or
c) 4 more years in the senate than Obama, during which time, she voted to authorize the Iraq war and continually to renew funding for it.
Why are any of these things a positive mark on her record?
9 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoCan't a president only serve two terms?
All I see is Bill Clinton campaigning for president. Doesn't the Constitution prevent someone from serving more than two terms? How can Bill Clinton be running against Barack Obama in 2008?
9 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoDems: can we really disagree with this statement: If we nominate Hilary, we elect McCain?
The GOP is fractured and they do not like the guy who is winning. So why are we going to revitalize their base by giving them another Clinton to run against?
Am I wrong here? Does anyone on the blue team really think that Hillary can beat McCain?
Does anyone at all think that Obama wouldn't win a landslide?
13 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoFor those on the right: do you want Hillary Clinton to have the ability to label you an "enemy combatant?"
To throw you in a military prison, without representation, without a trial, and without an inkling as to why you are there? Worst of all, on her word and her word alone?
This power is currently a legal right of the president of the Unisted States:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_Commissions_...
Who do you trust to not abuse this power?
Barack Obama?
Rudy Giuliani?
Mitt Romney?
George Bush?
6 AnswersPolitics1 decade ago"What we need to do, is to amend the Constitution so it's in God's standards"- Is Mike Huckabee insane?
http://www.foxnews.com/wires/2008Jan15/0,4670,Huck...
I did a Faux news link so that the hardcore righties don't think I made it up.
Is anyone out there honestly going to vote for Christian Theocracy?
Was that statement the end of this man's candidacy?
