So, if you disagree with a question, just report it and it will get deleted, even if it is in compliance?

2 of my questions have been removed in the past several days. The questions were not in violation of any of the guidelines, yet when I appeal and point out that fact, I get the "no, we're leaving it down" form email and then absolute silence on repeated protests.

Has Yahoo! answers gotten this lazy? If so, why should I waste my time here?

Update:

I welcome your kind words and input. Please know that I am not here to be defensive or whine about my poor points (I've got plenty)- but I would argue that just about every question asks for opinion.

I have had questions reinstated by Y! A in the past, so I think this is some kind of shift to an automatic system.

I will continue to defend my posts and resist the temptation to play the same game with those with whom I disagree.

Yes, that seems to be what is going on. Someone does not like the direction your question is going, and they report it, and if they have cohorts here they can group report it.

I haven't asked any questions yet - but I have answered a lot. I have had answers reported. I have tried to appeal them and never got anywhere, so I just look at it as part of the process - and yes I have toned some of my answers as not to offend anyone. My basic thought is " you asked - so don't be mad about any answers, as long as they are not profane ".

I have found that religious topics and political topics draw the most reactions. I have also seen others in both of those topics complain the most about reporting problems.

I hope you don't leave. We need good people and it is obvious that you care. We must persevere and not let the creeps drive us out.

    Hang in there.

I checked your profile to find out what the problem may be and found many of your questions do indeed violate the rules. Just one example: you asked <<Should John McCain just debate himself?>> and posted it in "politics" - this is a political question, but it asks for opinions, and that's called "chatting" by YA terms. Had you posted this and other questions in polls&surveys, it would not have violated the rules. Maybe the deleted questions went along a similar path? I'm not trying to be mean here, just trying to explain what the reason for your problems may be...:-)

I asked a question once and I put it in all caps so that it might get more answers. I didn't realize it was against the rules. Immediately, I got a response from Q&A saying that was against the rules. But I see questions in all caps all the time. Don't know why I was singled out, but I later asked the question the correct way. And, I know, that all caps, means to some people that you are yelling.

they probably dont even go over your requests, or protests. they probably have an automatic answer. cuz its really not that important to them. its more of a hassle. i am not sure what makes them get deleted in the first place, if they r not against the rules, but i wouldnt waste my time if i kept getting mine deleted unfairly, and i would spread the news aroung big time to share with other people the poor way they run the sight! thats usually the only way to get attention.

I would never do that, but I have had questions removed. I just move on. If it's a question I would really like an answer to I just repost it.
