I can believe it. The media has become desperate to one up each other on finding scandals.

Isn't it sad that the reporting of the political system has gotten to the point where the issues are so far aside and who called whom a name, or made a comment, or had a photo taken, 99% of which is out of context?

It is only serving to polarize, and I think that is what the media thrives on. If all was hunky-dory there wouldn't be much to report on, and all that advertising revenue would be in jeopardy. Turn off the TV and make the rounds of the online newspapers. They aren't much better, but at least you can get a little more variety than just watching Fox "news" all day.
