How do I check the voltage to my car's radiator fan? It's a 97 Chevy Cavaliar. Any good websites?

I read that it should be 12 volts.

Thanks.

12v is right...if it's not working 9 times out of 10 is the fan relay

not necessarily your cooling fan could run at 2 speeds hi and low,so that would involve different voltages,to measure voltage you would need a voltmeter and probe the power(+) side of the connector on the cooling fan and you would also want to know the amperage that fan has.(are you having overheating issues. try( how it works.com)
