Does my HP battery charge when it is cold?
Last night I had class, and I used my laptop to take notes. I left my laptop in the car over night. I brought my laptop in the house this morining to do my math homework. I plugged it in this time because I had an outlet to plug into. I noticed that at first the battery was not charging. When I hovered my house over the icon in the system tray, it said not charging. Then it warmed up, and all of the sudden it is charging. Is there some kind of technology that makes the laptop not charge to save the battery or something?

I would think that its more an issue of chemicals rather than technology implemented.
Batteries -do- charge when cold, at least in my experience, but the maximum capacity they can achieve and how fast it charges is slowed.
I guess its possible that it would be so cold that it could not be charged?
