when babies are this young they are still trying to get there days and nights on track. you can help by setting in a routine for bedtime to let lil one know its time for bed.

My baby had that problem too, even when he was inside me. At about 2 weeks old I started kinda setting a routine. Not a strict one, but one where he knows it's night time. Before I start getting ready for bed, I give my baby a bath, a bottle, burp him then swaddle him and lay him down. He falls asleep pretty fast now and sleeps for about 4-5 hours straight after that. But he didn't adjust fast. It took about a week and a half for him to finally realize bath time ment time for bed. I don't do it a specific time either, I only do it when I'm ready for bed and he seems to have adjusted pretty well now. If I don't give him a bath he gets thrown off and doesn't sleep as well. Also my mom gave me this bear that his a little rice sack type thing inside it and you take the rice sack out, sprinkle water on it, put it in the microwave for about 45 seconds and put the rice sack back in the bear, and then place the bear next to the baby and it helps them sleep A LOT better. IT makes them feel like someone is laying next to them. Maybe you should get something like that. Just remember to not place it anywhere near their face or on top of them. It also works great for tummy aches. Goodluck

yeah i had a hard time and giving in to sleeping whenever baby slept, trust me, put everything on hold for another couple of weeks until baby gets used to day and night cycles outside of the womb. it will be good for the future, because the amount of rest you gt now will greatly affect the way you feel in the months to come :)
my baby would sleep all day and wake all night, probably because i worked at restaurants until week 40! i was walking and rocking baby to sleep all day, then night would come and she'd be up kicking me in my belly while i tried to sleep (that is if i wasn't waking up to pee every hour, lol!)
good luck and i hope you are ok! the first weeks can seem like eternity if you are sleep deprived. but what baby is doing is totally normal and WILL change soooo much over the next few months you will be so relieved :)
hang in there mama!

My baby used to sleep practically all day and then be up a lot of the night. This is very normal for a newborn. Slowly but surely he got his days and nights figured out. I just ensured that I kept everything dark and quiet at night and didn't do a lot of talking and playing with the baby and kept everything bright during the day, always with the TV or radio on.

The first 3 weeks, I let my babies decide when it was time to feed and nap/sleep. I would set up my routine for them around the same time after the third week. I would get them up near the time they seemed to wake up anyways and take it back gradually to the time I knew I would have to get them up to get ready for the sitter when I returned to work at 6 weeks old.
This was my routine for each child:
up in the morning, bath time! then dress, eat breakfast, then play time until sleepy, nap time!
The baby would wake up sometimes in about 2 or 3 hours, and I would change his diaper, offer the breast if the baby seemed hungry, then playtime again or if the baby seemed cranky, back to nap time.
This was our routine until about 10 or 11 pm when I would feed the last time and put the baby down for the night. My babies started to sleep through the night at about 4 to 6 weeks old.
Hope this helps!

Just wait mama, the napping baby is about to wake up, you'll be wishing for that little break you had in the day. He/she is still young, he's just resting, I know it's hard to be up all night with a little one, but he/she will grow out of it soon!

All babies are different. When my son was two weeks old he slept all day and night and got very upset when I woke him up to feed him.
