New political party???

What do you think of forming a new political party in which YOUR ideals and wishes for YOUR country were represented? I have always felt I had to compromise a bit of myself when supporting any politician, but I don't feel like my views are that different from most people. Would you join a new party? Would you help to form it?

I may not join. But I may vote for you.

No I would not join or form a political party in the US or the UK. All political parties become corrupt because they are bought in the US by vested interests. In the UK they must conform to an overwhelmingly conservative population and must in the end serve the financial establishment. Here in Ireland I might consider it because we have a voting system called proportional representation which allows small parties to be part of coalitions, ( The greens are in coalition government now) and therefore they may have a voice. Other European nations with similar voting systems are often held as great examples of democracy at work.

So it has ten thousand very slightly differring policies?

You're never going to have a party which represents everyone. A much better solution would be to have real democracy, where everyone votes on ALL motions debated in government. You can go with your chosen party line, or you can go with someone else. That way you don't need crooks in Washington to tell you what it is you want - YOU decide for yourself and don't have them "representing" you.
