Have we reset the clock back to Sept. 10, 2001??

On Sept. 10, 2001 most of America was oblivious to the fact that there was evil in the world that wanted nothing more then to kill them, just for being Americans and was more worried about their own self centered lives then about the nation as a whole...on Sept. 11 that changed...people opened up their eyes to the evil that hates us...people went back to church in mass, held prayer vidgules, supported each other, and gelled together as "Americans"....Now, after 7 years of no attacks on our homeland, Americans are now more worried about their own self centered lives again, and we are now on the verge of electing a socialist or a muslim as President of the United States.....have we reset the clock BACK to Sept.10, 2001, or is it even worse then that??

Update:

moon flo....that is getting so lame....why don't you ask the majority of those who HAVE been there which they would prefer??....when I was in the military I would NEVER have disrespected anyone by getting in their face and saying..why aren't YOU fighting....what an idiotic statement to make under any situation.

Update 2:

none.... You said "They didn't want to kill "Americans" as in random citizens- they wanted to disrupt American government. Different thing entirely"

WHAT???....try telling that to the families of the 3000 dead who did NOTHING but go to work that day, get on a flight for vacation, or business trip...or the ones whos loved ones died trying to save those trapped on that day!!!...They just wanted to disrupt American government????...AGAIN WHAT???...how the HECK did they disrupt our government??..it continued on just like always after collecting itself from the worse attack in American history!!!...and when it DID collect itself, it kicked some keysters!! we didn't send in some cruise missles into an aspirin factory or do nothing...it did what had to be done!!!

Obama WAS rised as a muslim, BY a muslim and is now a member of a racially exclusive church...let any white republican try that and see what happens!

Update 3:

This "answer" is so inflammatory and baseless as to be simply written off as yet another knee jerk rant from the left, but sadly too many people will read this, never do any research to learn that its baseless and the knee jerk spreads like some evil ball game wave.

Though yes, many in this country would like to return to the ignorant bliss offered us during the Clinton years leading up to 9!11, we unfortunately run a high risk of falling prey again should we allow that to happen.

Rudy was right on this. It was an event that deserves our constant attention to this day no matter how distasteful or, 'scary' the libs find it.

They didn't want to kill "Americans" as in random citizens- they wanted to disrupt American government. Different thing entirely. And if you want to bring up the innocent people killed, turn it around and also apply your theory then to all of the innocents we have killed. Is it the Iraqi people, or the Iraqi government we are after? Yeah.

Secondly, Obama is NOT and never has been a Muslim. Are you just another little republican mouthpiece who can't discern fact from fiction? Can you say Baaaaa?

Have fun working yourself up into a frothy little sheep over nothing but spin if you like, but I'm going to let the actual facts speak for themselves.

No, I want to set our clock back to a time when we didn't get involved in the wars of other nations. A time when we were not the target of terrorists.

We have our friends in Washington to thank for the attacks of 11 September, 2001. Yes, it's true that there have always been radical elements in this world. The question you should be asking yourself is why did they attack us.

They attacked us because we have become involved in their wars. I am not blaming the American people, I am pointing the finger at our politicians. The American people have suffered as a result of the terrorist attack. Our politicians have gained power over us. So who really won?

It doesn't take a genius to understand that an attack of that magnitude isn't launched against the most powerful nation in the face of the Earth for no reason. Don't get the impression that I have any sympathy for the terrorists, because I don't. But the people who brought terrorism to our shores are in Washington.

I am certainly not about to support any of the Democrat candidates. At the same time, I will not support any of the Republicans who will continue a foreign policy that makes the American people the target of terrorists. I will not vote for a candidate who is destroying the Bill of Rights.

I don't believe any real American would allow a bunch of criminals to destroy their civil rights with the Patriot Act, the Military Commissions Act, the removal of habeas corpus, and the use of torture. I will never give up my freedom for the "security" they offer. We don't need them to protect us. We need them to stop making targets of us.

I want peace, freedom and prosperity. What's wrong with that? All the candidates, with the exception of Ron Paul stand for undeclared war, loss of freedom, and bankruptcy and inflation.

I guess you know who I support.

I'm not. I live for the future, but never forgetting 9/11. America is, and will continue to kick terrorist booties.

Perhaps though, the Liberal, and the war protester's ought to relive the morning they woke up and found out that over 3000 American citizens died by al- Qaeda, and so did Firemen, and Policemen trying to save those in the rubble of the twin towers.

Americans don't lay down! We fight the ememies of freedom!

i can't say anything, but that's america for you. we're taken care of so well that eventually we take advantage of it. another way you can look at it though is that things are being taken care of and americans just aren't scared anymore and feel safe again. in regards to why people "gelled together" is because there is safety in numbers and in time of crisis it's typically our nature to want to help others, your heart goes out to those and at the same time it makes us feel better about ourselves. and to why i think people went to church more is also because it made others feel safe to know if there was something to happen they could count on their beliefs to keep them safe. it's like how on people's death beds they've "lived a not so good life" but last min they always find a way to make their peace with god "just in case".

I guess the short answer is our culture promotes and worships individualism. The times after spet 11th are the EXCEPTION rather than the rule.

It's worse than that. A lot of people have their heads buried in the sand. Many actually think our Government carried out the attack! "Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it."

McCain will win. If you had to pick out one member of Congress who is most passionately dedicated to the war on terror and Bush's vision, that person would be McCain.

BINGO! As Americans snooze away their safety and security. They will someday wake up but likely it will be too late.
