I love everything in Turkey, people, food, architecture...
From my experience, I would go just buying airfare. You will be surprise with variety of hotels and restaurants in almost every city. The only "all inclusive" I would suggest an yacht vacations in Turkey.

Go half board or better still bed and breakfast. you then have a choice of what and where you eat and will get better quality. Also, your money is more likely to be going to the people who run the restaurants and bars rather than some international consortium who ruin and destroy the economy of the place you are visiting.
Olu Deniz is beautiful and you will not want to spend all your time at the hotel or be having to be back at a certain time for meals etc. AI could actually narrow your holiday experience. If you are trying to get cheaper deals, have a look at Ovacik - about 10 mins from Olu Deniz. Its beautiful, quieter than Hisaranu and very very cheap!

If you would like to eat decent food then don't go All inclusive.
Although in all the All inclusive hotels in Turkey they have at least 3 or more different restaurants, for example Turkish, Italian, or Chinese, they will have a choice so you don't have to have the same one each night.
However the quality of those restaurants wont be so good as your local take away at home, in fact the quality is not that great.
I would advice to go Half board because then you have the chance to go out of the hotel to eat in a home cooked quality restaurant where the quality will be better, and the you can also experience the outside too rather than being in the hotel the whole time.
One person can eat a 3 course meal for as little as 20 Lira (8 pounds) however be careful as they will try and rip you off as that's how they make there profit from tourists, always order wine from a wine list that has prices and don't order fresh fish on show due to high prices they will charge you, always order from a menu where you can see prices.
Hope that helps! Good Luck

You can eat fantastically and cheaply in Turkey. The resorts are teeming with restaurants and tavernas offering all sorts of delicious foods at great prices.I would not go all inclusive. In fact bed and breakfast or self catering is a much better choice.Olu Deniz is beautiful and you will love the beach and lagoon.Stunning.Go next door to Fethiye which is a pretty harbour town to sample some authentic Turkish cuisine.Be ready to have hassle from the shop and restaurant owners to get you to buy their goods though. You can't get away from it but thats because trade it is so competetive between the Turks.A firm refusal will suffice.

Turkey is very cheap and easy to do on your own. Also, it is good to support local restaurant owners who are being run out of business by the all/ins. I was there this summer, and I had an AMAZING meal for about 6 Euros, and the place was empty. The owner sat with me and lamented his losses due to the all-inclusive resorts. He was looking at closing next year.

We went to turkey last year and found the all inclusive poor value overall, the drinks part was ok, but the food was not particularly good (in fact I would go so far as to say poor). The surrounding restaurants were really good, Quality was excellent and fairly cheap. If you have a good deal go with the AI, but look to eat out as well if you can. The service in the restaurants/on the beach is excellant.

Unless you have a lot of kids I cant see why people travel all the way to Turkey and spend all their time in all inclusive hotels where they queue for food and experience nothing of the local atmosphere.it is not expensive to eat out and is far better food.

I prefer all inclusive however in fetiye where the ölü deniz is located hotels usually work half board anyway

just go bed and breakfast, there are so many restuarants to choose from its a waste of money paying for half board. you can eat for a family of four for about £20. (with drinks). i've been to hisaronu/oludeniz 6 times, i love it. Take some warmer clothing for the nightime as it does get cool in october at night.

Wonderful Country to visit. Lovely people, delicious food, archaeologically second-to-none, and, fairly inexpensive, as well as safe. Go half board.
