Kevin Keegan: hero or zero?

Newcastle United manager Kevin Keegan has been hailed as a home-coming hero by the fickle fans. his record so far is 5 games, 2 goals, 1 point. when Big Sam was achieving better results the fans were singing 'you don't know what you're doing' to him! Keegan was excellent as a player for club and country but that does NOT make him a manager. so:

hero or zero?

how long before the 'fans' turn on Keegan?

how long before he walks away when once again he realises he's not man enough for the job?

A club that sacked Bobby Robson after what he did for them deserves nothing.

I hope Kevin Keegan makes a pile of dosh out of them and gets out before it affects his health. I would then like to see Newcastle slip quietly out of the football league over the next 7 or 8 years.

The club is like its populace, arrogant and pointless.

I agree with Robert C (now I'm a poet and didn't know it!) I am not a fan of Keegan's but I must say that his decision to go back to Newcastle was a very shrewd move. Firstly he was asked even though he was not officially available, so no pressure there. Secondly he wasn't even working in football at the time, so if it does all end in tears he can just go back to his day job and back into obscurity. And thirdly if he is as clever as it seems he wont quit but will wait to be sacked and then cash-in on a lucrative contract payout. Basically even if his team never wins again Keegan can't lose!

Let's face it whatever he does or not as the case may be he'll walk away with £millions in the bank !!!

Yes he's the manager, but at the end of the day it's about time the 11 footballers running around on the field during the game took some of the blame for the way they play, start taking money off them when they play badly and they might get their finger out for a change!!

Keegan was overrated from the beginning but because of his history he'll have the time that Allardyce didn't, I still think Newcastle are rubbish though, how could you let Carew score a hat trick, it was such an ugly hat trick aswell, 2 dodgy headers, and a penalty with no direction and full power, hang your head in shame geordies

Still a hero among the geodies but i think they are in big big big big trouble. They play very poor and i don't know why Kev didn't sign anyone during thr transfer window as money was made available. He realizes it now. Well...........Mike Ashley will be counting his fingers till the next transfer window. I won't be surpriced if he goes out to spend GBP 50mil or 60mil. The toon army are 100% behind him. You saw what they did in the Aston Villa match(singing even when they were 4-1 down).

They deserve more than that. Big stadium, big fan base and waiting for something to happen.............How long will it take?

i would be horrified if he was put in charge of my team, they are crazy letting allardyce go and getting what for more money? no way is he tactically aware like the top managers, he'll be lucky to keep them in the prem next season
