Ladies help. Whats going on with my pregnancy?

I took 2 pregnancy tests last Friday and both were positive. I went to the dr's office about 5 days later and she did a vaginal ultrasound to guess the babie's due date. She couldn't see anything in my uterus. Is it just too early to see it? She had me get all kinds of blood tests to make sure my HCG levels are increasing to be sure I'm not having an ectopic pregnancy. I'm so nervous something is wrong. Also, my boobs aren't sore yet and I have no pregnancy symptoms. When is the earliest my dr can see the embryo with an ultrasound? I go back this Thursday to see what my blood tests reveal and another ultrasound. I'm freaking out about this.

Update:

Also. My Dr and I have no clue how far along I am. I have no idea what my LMP was and obviously the dr couldn't see anything in my uterus. So, hopefully I'm at the very beginning of pregnancy and I'm praying everything will be fine.

The blood work you dr did will give her a good idea of how far along you are. Some women are lucky enough not to have pain and morning sickness during pregnancy but depending on how far you are you may not be at that point yet. As far as ultrasounds go usually the earliest you can see a sac, not the baby but just the sac is 5 weeks. To be able to see the baby is usually between 6-8 weeks when your hcg levels get to be 6500 or more. Before then if your hcg number double about every 48 hrs that is a very good sign.

It maybe just too early to see. I don't even know why the Dr. would be in such a hurry to do an ultra sound so early in the pregnancy. An ectopic pregnancy feels just like a regular pregnancy and you really can't tell the difference, so you should not think of it as a high possibility. Just be patient and think positive.

It probably is just too early. I had an ultrasound the day I found out I was pregnant and she barely even found any fluid on the ultrasound. I had another appointment 4 weeks later and you could see fluid and the little shrimp moving around on the screen. At that point, I was 8 weeks.

    Good luck!!

as you can tell there isn't much there. each person is different however, but try not to worry. it wasn't until my 11th week that we could see any sign of a baby in my uterus. and i have been severely ill with both pregnancies, each time it started about five or six weeks in. you don't have to get sick though and you don't have to show any symptoms of the pregnancy. my breasts didn't even get sore until 3 months in the first time.

but please remember that every woman is different. and vaginal ultrasounds, in my experience never showed up. i know it's tough but just be patient.

I would suggest totally relying on your dr and the test they take to give you a correct answer to your question. I had 5 children and each one was different in carrying them. Good luck.
