The Double Helix by James D. Watson...?
I need to write a persuasive essay on The Double Helix by James D. Watson. I have to pick a topic from the book, and write about my opinion. I have not finished reading the book; however, so far I have not found anything that is a potential topic.
If you don't understand what I am asking for, here's an example: another book I could have chosen for my class is The Origin of Species by Charles Darwin. If I wrote my essay on that book, the obvious topic would be to argue for or against evolution.
So I need a topic that I can argue, that pertains to The Double Helix.
Any ideas are welcomed. Thank you!
I did consider writing about Rosalind Franklin's contributions and lack of credit. However, I was not sure that I would find enough to support my arguement.

I read the book, but it was 10 years ago. The one thing I remember was Crick and Watson's influence with the work of Rosalind Franklin's research. What if you talked about her influence on their ability to come up with the structure of the DNA molecule? Or maybe should she have gotton more credit than she did?

perhaps you should position in writing some thing about Watson's cutting-edge very racist statements to the British press...i might want to evaluation his statements with what's ordinary about DNA (ie race does no longer exist). an selection selection might want to be to position in writing about contributions to the progression of DNA from a particular lady researcher at Cambridge who were given no credit regardless of laying the whole starting up position. a very last idea is write some thing on the idea of "attractiveness" in biology. As you recognize from they (VERY short) e book, Watson and Crick were captivated with the idea that DNA, the construction block of humanity, had to have a captivating structure and the double helix gave them that. this can nicely be compaired with ancent greek and renaissance ideas of attractiveness in the human kind and in nature.
