Recognizing a woman from the back-side?

Okay. So is it all right for a man to recognize a woman from the back and call her name at work? I had this happen to me today and it felt a little weird - like someone had figured out what my back side looks like (btw-he's a really nice guy and this is not the first time it's happened).

If you're a woman and have had this happen and wondered, give me a star and an answer.

If you're a man and never even thought a woman would find this odd, give me a star and an answer.

I've had this happen to me... but my hair is also pretty unique. I don't give it much thought, and never attribute to malice what can be explained by stupidity. I assume that they're noticing my stature or hair, not my (lovely) backside.

Now, if I were bending over, I'd be wierded out.

Eh. Usually they just recognize my hair or shirt. At least, I think they do.

One time, I was standing next to someone and thought they were my mom. I spotted that they had a book I have and love, so I commented, "Oh my god, I love that book." I looked up and turned red in the face when I realized she wasn't my mom! We had a nice conversation about it, though, and I thought that I held up my end of the conversation considering she was a professor and I'm still a sophmore.

Maybe he remembered what color shirt you had on.Maybe he remembered your hair (which you bug us about all the time).Maybe he knows you and can remember what you look like.I can recognize guys I know when they are turned away. This question reminds me of the Three's Company theme where they are at the amusement park and Larry gets in a bumper car with a girl who's back is to the camera, then when they turn around, its really a guy with long hair.Silly Larry!

I recognize plenty of people from the backside.... not by their butt, but by the way they hold themselves and their hair. I wouldn't find it weird at all.

I just had someone I used to go to middle school come up behind me and recognize me. Surely, he can't recall what my butt looks like from all those years ago. It's really not strange to recognize people from behind. Especially if you work together everyday. I mean, how many people at your work have your same hair style/color?

Are you telling me that if he turned around, you would get all confused wondering where he went?

I recognize people from the back, but generally because of their hair and size. I was once standing next to my mother behind a partition and you could only see our legs from about mid-thigh down (we were both wearing shorts and sandals -- my ex said he had to take a REALLY good look to tell whose legs were whose.

    * Really that shouldn't be weird I think you are totally over analyzing the situation. I have had this happen many times it doesn't mean he's staring at your back side. YOUR BEING PARANOID WHO CARES!!

I'm sure you could recognize that guy from his backside. I don't see what the big issue is, i doubt he is staring at your butt all the time.

Sadly enough, I get recognized from my backside *way* too often. It does feel odd but I don't think anything inappropriate is intended.

I guess we just have recognizable cabooses? : )

i usually don't use a woman's backside to recognize her. if i'm behind her i use her hair or clothing style

    maybe he's just a creep
