TTC with clomid?

Hello all. Yesterday I had an appointment at the fertiltiy clinic and they suggested putting me on clomid, althoug nothing is final yet. Can someone give me reassurance that this drug will actually work- my main problem is a luteal phase defect, the second being, we are not entirely sure that I am ovulating. Also, hubby is concerned about the mood swings aspect of the side effects. Any reassurance greatfully received. Thanks x

One possible side affect of clomid is mood swings, but everyone is different. I had taken three rounds of clomid and did not have any side affects with it. I took it at night, so I am not sure if that helped.

I had taken three rounds of clomid and just found out I am pregnant! I am about 5 weeks pregnant. You have to weigh your options and determine if clomid is right for you. I recommend using it if you are not ovulating. Without using clomid, I do not think I would have gotten pregnant.

Also, when taking clomid you have a 10% chance of having multiples as compared to a 2% chance not taking it. More than 2 is very rare.

The doctor will start you out with the lowest dosage which is 50 mg. The dosage can increase to 200 mg. It is possible that the lower the dosage, the less chance of having side affects. I was on 50 mg on three rounds.

Good luck and lots of baby dust to you!

clomid can cause mood swings but you have to weigh the good verses the bad. sure your might have some mood swings but if you get pregnant he will have to deal with even more mood swings. If you are not ovulating you sould try it. it could correct your luteal phase and your anovulation at the same time and give you a little bundle of joy. If the dr recommends it I would take the chance and if the side effects get to bad go back to the dr and ask to try something else. but just to let you know the mood swings only last a week or 2 out of the month not the entire time. and part of it you will likely be on your period (depending on what days your dr. puts you on) and who doesn't already have mood swings when PMSing. he probably won't be able to tell the difference.

well i took clomid last yeat got pregnant the first time and m/c after 2 months put that could have been due to other problems. waited a year and took clomid on the 23rd for 5 days and went back to the doc and there were really good follicles, i think better than last time. so we are on our baby makng stage now so have to wait till the end of the month to see if im preg or not. wish me luck :-)

i didnt have any side effects but on one of the days that i was on clomid i was sooo cranky at everything. everything ticked me off. it was so weird cos i know woman talk about mood swings and stuff during menopause and mensutration but im oly 22 and i though i would never experience that but man! that day was weird. but it went away after a couple of days. its a really good option if u want to try it. alot of ppl have gotten preg on it. god luck

I am on my 4th round of clomid and I didnt experience any crazy mood swings. the only thing I have experienced is hot flashes at night, thats it. i'm due to ovulate in the next week or so, I will let you know how it goes. but if you are not ovulating than clomid my be your best option. good luck.
