The libs in Congress want to be able to say that they actually accomplished something when November rolls around.

"Liberal Congress". That's funny. Maybe MLB is the only thing they can investigate without being stonewalled by the Bush Administration and it's loyal minions still in the House and Senate. Personally, I think massive tax hikes on the rich should be the next congressional topic but I won't hold my breath. As for colossal waste of time and money: the Iraq war comes to mind. BTW This is where cons often get it wrong. No one controls Congress. Having the majority doesn't mean you have control. A hostile minority can cause a stalemate, which is how the system is supposed to work so no majority runs roughshod over the will of the minority. Consensus, cooperation and compromise are crucial to the health of our government.

This has become a circus show with Roger Clemens. This Senator Waxman guy who has been running these hearings is wasting a lot of time and money. I understand that congress dictates health policies and getting everyone up on what harms steroids causes is a good thing, but this is a big waste. There were steroid mandates in baseball at the time the players were using why dig it up. MLB should move forward with what is in place. This is a major farce and I am tired of them wasting my tax dollars.

Because the Mitchell investigation began on March 30, 2006.
After President Bush's call for a crackdown on steroids in his 2004 State of the Union Address
So you see, it was not The Liberal Congress that initiated this distraction from real problems.
I just saw Darrell Issa questioning Clemens, is he a Liberal?
Next time check your facts please.

You bet it is a waste of time and money. The problem should be addressed by MLB and only MLB. The Dem congress is just sticking its nose into somewhere they do not belong.

This really makes me mad. Why didn't they cover the Senate covering up the phone companies spying on Americans for the government?

I completely agree, however the committee that does this dog & pony show really doesn't do much; so I guess this is their TV face time.

They want to know what happens when your balls shrink and that is important to this impotent congress. Back off man, they need to know!

It's hardly a "liberal" Congress. If it was, we wouldn't be at war right now.
But since you obviously have this information, please share with us how many Democrats and how many Republicans are involved in the investigation?
