is there a term limit for vice presidents ?

could a person be a vice president for mutipule presidents over several terms of office ?

    I believe someone can be vice president several times, yes....

    However, in response to Clinton being VP, I actually don't think that's right.

    If you have already held the 2 terms for President, I don't think you can be vice president.

    Think about it, the job of the vice president is to take over if the president can't (resigns, dies, etc).

    If that was to happen, and the VP had already held 2 full office terms as president, that wouldn't work.

    EDIT-I also found this line "The Twelfth Amendment to the United States Constitution requires the vice president to meet the same eligibility requirements as the president. "

    Which would mean NO. Because part of being eligible for president is that you cannot have already held that office for the 2 terms. So therefore, if not eligible for president, not eligible for vice president.

    The term limits for a vice president is the same as a president's term limits. Presidents and Vice Presidents can only serve two 4-year terms. The posters who say vice presidents can serve multiple terms are wrong.

    There is no term limits for Vice Presidents in the US.

    As far as I know without checking. I think there should be one on the president's spouse also. 16 years is to much for one family to be in office. Maybe if there is a break in between it is OK.Just an opinion.
