i live in some apartments, i cant get cable because the main cable box for the apartments have been vandalized! i cant get sattelite because of the way im facing! what else can i do? this some dumb BS!

See if you can make a deal with the manager to put a dish on the roof. Otherwise, tell them you'll move if they don't fix the cable.

Yeah best bet is a regular attenena and if you have and HDTV just do a channel search over the air and get local HD.

Try using a TV antenna for your local broadcast channels.
How 'bout verizon's FIOS?
