The media seems to be favoring McNamee, do you think this will influence people's opinions?

I watched the entire hearing that is 6 hours and 20 min long on mlb.com, and from what I notices I thought that either one could be telling the truth or lying. It seemed evenly matched, and they seemed to have even odds of telling the truth.

They both had their troubles and their strength, but the media seemed to be more concentrated on Clemens weaknesses then on his strength. The media has yet again been bias, and tried to alter peoples opinions from this issue, and have tried to make people side with McNamee.

Also, the hearing was not supposed to be mainly on Clemens and McNamee, but on the steroids and their influence on the people in the US and how to prevent it from reaching the youth. This topic was barely touched on towards the end, and was the only issue both Clemens and McNamee agreed on which is preventing drugs from influencing the children.

Hard to tell from watching, but it looks like Clemens has a few more holes in his story ... and Andy Pettitte has backed up McNamee, more or less.

I don't have any problem with media members commenting on the proceedings; that's their job. Congress didn't exactly come out of this looking good, though. This should have been staged in a court room and not in the Capitol.

I don't trust the media. They know one of the two is lying, and the truth is Clemens is a bigger fish then McNamee. It's a much bigger story if Clemens is lying, but it's just wishful thinking on the media's part. Especially the Boston media. They would rather take the word of a drug dealer, who has a rape allegation against him, then the man he's accusing.

P.S., If you think it's wrong to hold an allegation against McNamee, I'd like to remind you that Clemens' steroid use is an allegation as well.

I think that the Rocket should just have gone in and told the truth. It became a circus because so many people (including Andy Pettite and his wife) testified that Clemens had, indeed, used steroids. Now Clemens faces perjury charges and possible jail time on top of everything else. When I first heard that McNamee saved the syringes and other items that he used on Clemens, my reaction was "Huh?"...but after hearing his explanation, "I liked and admired Roger, but didn't trust him...", it became more believable to me. McNamee is nobody. The real story is all the people (fans, etc.) that Clemens let down.

  • The reason for the focus on Clemens' weaknesses by the media? It could be because there is a lot of people telling the same story about him, and yet he is stating that HE is the only one telling the truth.

Pettitte - a close friend of Clemens - swore that he had spoken to Clemens about his use of HGH, and Pettitte's wife swore that he told her of the conversation after it had happened.

What is ultimately the telling tale is what someone has to gain from lying. What does McNamee - someone who has already accepted punishment for his contribution to the issue of steroids/HGH in baseball - has NOTHING to gain from lying. He has stated his case to the individuals, and it was used in The Mitchell Report. There is proof that every name in that report that he named did in fact use steroids/HGH at some point. And many of the named players have come out and stated that they did in fact use it. But Clemens is the only one in the report that is named that DID NOT take steroids/HGH? I find that rather improbable.

I also think it funny that Clemens had the offer to come and speak to George Mitchell BEFORE he wrote and made public the findings in his report, but he refused. And NOW he is screaming that it is all lies?

And who is to blame for the scrutiny that Clemens currently faces? Well, this was a non issue until Clemens began screaming that he was hiring lawyers, and he was personally having the allegations investigated. It was nothing until he began calling McNamee - a FEDERAL witness that has proven himself rather credible - a liar and out for "something". The feds tend to take exception when you attack one of their witnesses. That was probably the largest mistake that Clemens ever made. And it is going to cost him his career and reputation. Not to mention it may cost him the HOF.

So what has gone on is Clemens and his "good name" were suddenly tarnished, and instead of making his statement (for or against) and moving on, he had to make a federal case out of it. And because of his rants and tantrums, he will now more than likely be the topic of a federal investigation, and have perjury charges pressed against him eventually.

Maybe he and Bonds can get ajoining cells in the Fed Pen. . .

Source(s): Also watched the hearings, and have also read the Mitchell Report from beginning to end.

McNamee is a dirtbag. So is Roidger Clemens. Andy Pettitte is the only one that told the truth.

Roidger Clemens should take his Hall-Of-Fame credentials right to San Quentin. With BALCO BARRY.

that is a really strong question. i believe it in basic terms boils all the way down to money. you are able to't beat the institution yet once you're wealthy sufficient they could allow you connect it, besides the indisputable fact that in the anglophone global it continually seems that there are in uncomplicated words truly 2 events who ever get elected. some thing in basic terms make up the numbers and the perfect that they in many cases can wish for is a junior partnership in a coalition authorities . As for independants, inspite of in the experience that they are strong the probability is they can make somewhat distinction at community aspect yet that is all because you do choose numbers to be a pressure so as that is why the numerous events downplay them because they opt to work out them isolated. finally, I do believe that independants might want to be worth as long as they don't look to be in basic terms unmarried undertaking applicants and they do have some guidelines if and at the same time as they get elected to objective to implement, albeit as i discussed probably in uncomplicated words on an section scale in all probability. Edit: it really is an American question that got here upon that is way onto the united kingdom forums, sorry about that because it really is an British attitude and that i must have regarded nearer. besides the indisputable fact that, I nevertheless wish it helps.

The Media is all about Dirty Laundry. If they see Blood in the Water? They're gonna go after it. With Clemens, sticking to his lies? Is something that can get Ratings. Which is Priority One for them.

This should be a MLB problem not the freaking Senates. Don't they have better things to do? Seems to me we have a war going on that people are DYING in , an economy on the verge of recession, illegal immigration, homelessness, people without healthcare, a broken social security system. Who cares if a bunch of overpaid athletes want to ruin their bodies with drugs. Get on with the business of running the country. I can't believe you watched that cr*p for over 6 hours.
