Potty training a Boy?
My son is almost 2 and giving all the signs to start potty training.
I bought pull ups w/ the cool feeling when he goes pp, but dont think it is very helpfull. Should i get toddler undies and have him experience an accident in them. How do I get him to want to use the training seat independently?

Well I don't agree with the others my son was 25 months when I started potty training and by 27 months he was completely trained and has had very few accidents. I would buy toddler undies I think pull ups are just another form of diaper and they still know they can pp and it will be ok. My son didn't do well until I bought him the undies. He's 4 now and has really never had major accidents. I say if he's showing interest in potty training go for it mom.

Not quite two is a little early to start potty training a boy. My son showed and interest at that age also, and he is now 3 1/2 and just now starting to get the hang of it. DO NOT use pull-ups. They are a waste of money, and some kids are more susceptible to diaper rash because of the chemicals that make them turn cool or change color. Go to Babies R Us. They have waterproof training pants.

just turning 2 is still very young for a child to be fully ready to potty train.
And boys are uslaly later then girls when it comes to potty training.
look for more signs for your child to be ready before putting pressure on him for something he is not ready for. Ie..wants to sit on the potty..is dry through out the night..has a dry diaper for a few hours a day..or says often he needs to be changed.
Potty traing is not something to push or stress about..it will come in it's own time..but for now..your boy is not ready yet.

My son did the same thing. He was imitating his brother standing up, even. He wore pull ups for a year, all kinds. He didn't really graduate to regular underwear until he was three. I just didn't worry too much about it and one day his pull ups were always dry, so we stopped using them.
