Would you still...???

Would you still root for one of your fave players if he got traded to a team you hate?

This happened to me...NickSwisher, my favorite team member of the Oakland A's, was traded to the stupid Chicago White Sox --- A TEAM I DESPISE!!!!!!!

But being the true fan I am, I will now faithfully watch those idiots just so I can root for my sweet Nick.

:-(

I'm not sure how much I want them to win any games yet, but I'll be watching and making my decision later. It's too soon to tell right now.

So what would you do?

Andrew Jones moved from the braves to the dodgers. I don't want them to win but i want him to have a good season.

In the case of Nick Swisher - he didn't make the choice to leave Oakland. He was traded. So I really can't see any reason why you couldn't still follow Swisher, while still continuing to follow Oakland.

Had he left the A's as a free agent to sign elsewhere, I can understand why you might not want to follow his career.

As a fan of the Cleveland Indians - I have suffered thru the Indians losing many of their players to free agency. I've also seen the Indians trade many players. For the most part I lose interest in following them other then to stop and watch if their new team happens to be on TV.

At some point you will find some other player to replace your sweet Nick.

I'm a Red Sox fan and Johnny Damon quickly became one of my favorite players when he was on the Red Sox. I still like him, even though he's on a team I don't like (Yankees). I enjoy watching him play, but every time he comes up to bat against the Red Sox, I'm hoping he gets struck out!

If he was traded I would still root for him. If he was greedy and left via free agency for more money I probably would not. I'm a life long Cardinals fan (52 years) Looks like its going to be a long season for the birds on the bat.

No. The loyality is with the team not the player.

Women tend to hold longer "feelings" for players once they leave. When MJ ent on to play with the Wizards after the Bulls, i rooted against him. Life goes on.

no, i would never root for the dodgers

but i would root for the certain player to do good

    unless he is a doushe

but if he went if a player went to another team likeJ.T. Snow going to the red sox, i will rootfor him to do good, maybe not the team, but himself

Honestly to me it depends. I am a die Hard yankee fan and if i saw someone get traded out of town to say either Boston or the Angels or even the Mets... i wouldnt be so pissed.

However... if he willing signed with them or if he demanded a trade to go there then i would HAVE a big problem.

Well i Jeter ain't going to the Red Sox neither is Posada or Rivera, but Cano is still young and if he went to Red Sox i would cheer for him but when the Yankees play the Sock i would want him to suck

Mike Piazza was my favorite player back when he played for the Dodgers. When he got traded to the Mets I lost interest.

I only liked him because he signed a baseball for me in Three rivers stadium. It was a Pirate logo baseball and he was a Dodger!

Nope! I'm an Indians fan and my fav player was Jim Thome. When he left to go ot the Phillies I hated him and would never root for him again or the team. Then he went to the White Sox. Screw him!!!

I probably would root for him individually but never the team. I remember way back when Dan Marino played for the Dolphins, I always liked him but never the fish.
