What is wrong with America that we divide over race, ethnic background or gender?

It depends on what you mean.

We dare not pretend that these differences don't exist and pretend to be colorblind. That isn't going to solve anything.

What will solve it is mission impossible.

One group wants to pretend like these problems don't exist and as a result these problems have gone unproperly handled. Now that the government is attempting to handle it, that group all of a sudden wants an America that does not see race. Well, when it benefited them they were fine with it...

What's wrong with America? Every nation on the planet is like that.

We are human. The same thing happens in all parts of the world. That does not make it right. It just means that we are not unique in that regard.

Because of the Government.

it's the same the world over. everyone wants to be king and not a peon. always has been and always will be. it's the pack mentality.
