This is the most common misconception in car audio... a cap will not 'fix' voltage issues if you are not producing enough voltage in the first place. If your lights are still dimming, you need a bigger alternator.

You wouldn't open a savings account because you spend more than what you make would you?

Your alternator is like your job, the more you make, the better off you are. You have to make more than you spend.

Your battery is like your checking account. The common place for all the money you make and the distribution point in which all money is paid out.

Your capacitor is like a savings account. Money set aside for when you need it immediately. But remember you have to replace it, and if you aren't making enough in the first place it is useless.

Your amplifier is like your wife/girlfriend. The biggest spender, but since you enjoy what she does, you have to accomodate for the amount she spends.

If your charging system is putting out over 13.8v with your system on, and the only complaint you have is the headlights dimming, I would do a HID headlight conversion. You can do the big 3, ho alt, batts, but its no guarantee.

Agreed u need a bigger alternator, and probly a better batterie. a cap is just ment to keep a 12-14v near your amp it still needs to be charged by the alternator. Your cap could be to small as well. Stick to the better brands. Rockford/stinger/kenitx

yea you need the big three. if anything out of the three, get a high-output alternator. also what brand are your batteries?? Stinger makes the nicest deep cycle batteries... go to ebay. they go all the way up to like 3500 cranking amps...

    Alternator.

You need to upgrade it to a higher output one.

Talk to your local autoparts store.

    "Crapacitors" do nothing.
