What am I missing on my tax return?
I'm attempting to do my own taxes with Turbo Tax for the second year in a row. (HOH, 1 dependent) In comparing this year to last year, I made basically the same amount of money (within 2k) and paid $900 MORE taxes. I am coming up with a return $1000 less than what I got last year! This can't be right, can it?!

This question seems to pop up on this website all the time.
Yes, it is possible if your withholding or your deductions have changed. Just do a quick line-by-line comparison of last year's return with this year's. It's probable that something will stand out as having changed.

It could make that much difference if you got EIC last year, and are either not eligible this year or are eligible for a much decreased amount.
