  • Unexplained dizziness?

I have three family members/ friends who are complaining of extreme unexplained dizziness. They've seen doctors with no explanation, diagnosis or treatment. One of them also is complaining of what she describes as "hot blood"... "it literally feels like my blood is on fire in my arms" she says.

Not sure if the two could be related? Any ideas of what could cause the dizziness? Of course "inner ear" is the standard reply... but something more specific that can be treated and relieved?

  • First Time Home Buyer Credit Issue!?

Bought a house in April and submitted the forms for the $8000 credit. Received certified mail from IRS yesterday saying it couldn't be granted because I've claimed mortgage interest on my tax returns in the past.

Here's the deal. 3 years ago I attempted to take out a loan to get myself out of debt. I had shaky credit and wanted to pay off credit cards... the bank couldn't grant me the credit and suggested my dad co-sign for me. Brought dad to the bank, and banker suggested a Home Equity Line of credit against the house my mom and dad own. Dad took out a $20k equity loan ( I used 8k and paid him back) and I was named on the loan/credit card. At the end of each year I received the tax form showing how much interest was paid and included it with my tax returns, of course trying to get the best possible return. I cleaned up my credit, paid my dad back, and was able to buy the house on my own (Go me!) I never owned my parent's house, never was named on a deed, or the first or second mortgages they have had... only on this line of credit. Does that make me ineligible? :( How should I approach this with the IRS??

  • Can I close out my traditional and Roth IRA accounts to use for down payment?

I have a traditional IRA and a Roth IRA with relatively low balances that I would like to withdraw money from to use for a down payment on my first house. I know that it's a qualified withdrawal so no penalty, but is there a penalty if I close them out completely and leave zero balances? The funds are from previous employers and have just been sitting idle (or declining and rebounding in the economy, I guess) and I have a newer, higher balance Roth that I currently contribute to. Is it ok to just close the old ones out??

  • Should I buy my 8 year old a DS, or is something better coming out soon?

My daughter would like a DS for her birthday, but I'm afraid that I will get it for her and 6 months later something newer will be released and they'll stop making DS games... as I experienced with the Gameboy! Anyone know if there are plans for a new handheld game??

  • How could I map out a trip with multiple mulitple stops?

I need to visit a huge list of locations in Janesville, WI. There are approximately 40 locations I need to visit, and would like to enter addresses into a map system that can tell me what order would make sense to go in and how to get to each location. (I am unfamiliar with the area) I think mapquest will let me enter multiple stops, but will list it in the order that I enter the locations, not in the order that would make most sense travelwise.

  • What am I missing on my tax return?

I'm attempting to do my own taxes with Turbo Tax for the second year in a row. (HOH, 1 dependent) In comparing this year to last year, I made basically the same amount of money (within 2k) and paid $900 MORE taxes. I am coming up with a return $1000 less than what I got last year! This can't be right, can it?!

  • Name this game!! Played on a long rectangular wooden board with shiny stones/marbles??

Its hard to explain... but the wooden board has about 10 small holes/crevices carved out on each long side, and one larger hole at each end. You start out with a certain number of stones in each hole and players take turn picking up all stones in a hole and going around the board putting one stone in each hole... My daughter played this game at school and loved it, I would like to buy it for her for Christmas... help!!

  • How to ask for donations in a nice, but convincing way?

We are having a Halloween party and providing a 1/2 barrel of beer to guests. We're not going to charge for a cup (seems kind of juvenile) but we'd like to set up a "donation jar" to help cover the costs. I've seen these at other parties with great sayings on them encouraging donations... any ideas to get people to fork some cash over??? :)

  • Charcoal grill ideas? Having a party for 30+ peeps and need some easy but GOOD food!?

We're going to be at a park that has charcoal grills to use, as well as running water, but no real kitchen to use. I thought of just brats and hot dogs, but that almost seems too simple!

  • Should I hire a lawyer? I was in a car accident with some extenuating circumstances...?

I was rearended on a Highway when traffic was forced to stop because of trash that was thrown in the middle of the road. "troubled" kids were out picking up trash and one of said kids took a bag and deliberately threw it in the middle of traffic traveling 65 mph! (police issued said kid a ticket for causing the accident!)

The full size van behind me was unable to stop in time and smashed into me from behind which sent me flying 75 plus feet across another lane of traffic and into a ditch. Totalled my car, I am in extreme discomfort and unable to sleep. Constantly picturing the van in my rear view as I very easily could have died if more traffic had been around. I'm fully insured, as is the driver of the van; and my company said they will handle the claim for me and get me reimbursed for everything... would I have better luck with a lawyer, obviously I want to get all that I'm entitled to and make sure the kids aren't able to do something like this again. Suggestions?

  • Should I bring flowers to cheer up a co-worker on the two year anniversary of her husband's death?

I'm not sure if it will just make things worse to start her day off with a reminder. On the other hand, I think it will be on her mind all day anyway and maybe I could cheer her up a bit. What do you think?

I would think right, since it's still US, but I've heard rumor of otherwise. I am traveling there and thinking of getting a rental car, any suggestions?

  • What wine is similar to Olive Garden's Principato Rosato?

I LOVE that wine! I would like to know a similar wine so I can purchase a bottle to relax with at home tonight, without going all the way to the Olive Garden.

I'm new to wine anyway, so maybe you could suggest a good blush wine?
