How old were you when you first remembered something as a child and what was it?

Update:

Yes Peter I do understand.

Update 2:

You guys sure were young when you remembered your chlld hood. I was about 5.

Update 3:

I ask this question for I have 3 grandchildren 5,4 and 3 and I wanted to know if they will remember the things I do with them. I go have lunch with my 5 year old at school every Tuesday. He is n Kindergarten. I want them to remember me as being an active part in their young lives and how much I loved them.

My youngest memories are clear, though I would not realize how young I was if I didn't have older siblings to confirm my age at the time.... The thing with very young memories is that although you don't necesarilly remember the events leading to an active memory-that particular memory is clear and unforgetable. Primary early childhood memories tend to be the good stuff.

After a certain point (different for everyone) you recall the bad and the good stuff gets lost.

With youngsters try to be the quite in the storm, the rock that the wind doesn't move and a kind and loving yet absolute individual in thier lives. All people look up to their elders when their elders have values/morals.

Even athiests and darwin worshipers claim that having morals is what makes us uniquely human.... But many are too narcisitic to understand that morals are """HOLY not HUMAN".

Your Granchildren will learn from your example and even if you see them rarely you will greatly influence them, and thier beliefs... Try to be the rock thats unmoved by the wind instead of the rock that crushes....

    God Bless You

I remember lying on my bed when I was about 3 and getting up and going to look for my mother. When I found her she was asleep on her bed and I remember thinking that was strange, to be awake when she was asleep. I went outside and sat in the sandbox and cried.

I remember being in nursery school and my mother being there sometimes...(Co-op) Something special like meeting your grandchild at kindergarten for lunch will be memorable too.

I also remember well a great aunt that I only met once when I was 5. The thing that made it memorable was that she paid special attention to me and it made me really happy. I wouldn't worry about them remembering your moments together. They will. Any one who loves them enough to ask this question is someone who is spending quality, memorable time with them.

Hi Sarah, I was three when I knew the start of pain and suffering, hurt and the acknowledgement my tears would go unnoticed, my cry's would not be heard and my childhood started on a descending escalator to no where. If you have read my all my poems, you would understand my answer was coming from, Best wishes. Peter

Some people may find this hard to believe this but I remember my Mom's labor with me. It seemed very hard on me to make it out but all of a sudden I was shot out into the world. I remember the bright lights in my eyes and some of my emotions about it also.

I was just a babe in the crib beginning to lift my head up and I had God awareness.

They will remember you. My child remembers his grandpa and he was not half as involved as you are with them. They had a strong love bond (grandpa's passed on now) Love makes the memory.

Not sure how old, but I was in my cot. I was throwing my teddies out of the cot then screaming until my mum came and put them back in. Then I'd throw them out again. I suddenly realised that this was a stupid thing to do. My first sentient thought, and possibly my last.

I remember trying to pick up a pumpkin but could not because it was to heavy. I think I was about 2 years old.

I remember crawling on the floor in my parent's apartment and lying down under my crib...

I was almost two, before my parents separated. I was lying in my crib and I yelled out for mommy to come get me and daddy came to get me instead, and brought me back to bed where mommy was and we all went back to sleep.

I was less than 2 years old. Let's just say it involved potty training, and leave it at that.
