Pasta in a slow cooker??

I'm making a Hungarian Goulash. I usually cook it on the stove for a couple of hours, but I'm thinking about just putting it in the slow cooker all day. My question: do I need to cook noodles before I put them in the slow cooker or will they soften on their own over the 8 or so hours they'll be in there.

Seems like a dumb question, but I hate when people put hard noodles in lasagna and they don't soften all the way. Thanks in advance.

If you're asking about pasta, you're not making Hungarian goulash. Call it "goulash" if you really must, but don't call it Hungarian, 'cause it's very far from it.

To answer the question you asked, definitely put the pasta in raw, unless you want it to turn to complete mush. However, a better option is to cook the noodles separately and combine with the rest of the stew just before serving.

I think they should cook as long as there's enough moisture in pot for them to absorb

You can always cook them for a short time on the stove so they'll finish cooking in the slow cooker

i would put them in raw and uncooked because if not then sitting in the slow cooker will turn them into mush.
