How do you order your shrimp poboy?

I order mine: dressed, add ketchup and hot sauce. I've been in a debate with a fellow New Orleanian for years over whether or not this is acceptable. He says real New Orleanians don't put ketchup on their shrimp poboys. I say he's confused.

I know I didn't come up with this on my own; it's the way I've always ordered it. I apparently saw it being done like this at a very young age--by who, I don't remember--and have been ordering it this way ever since.

What do you say?

Update:

Where are you from Star? That doesn't sound like a poboy.

Update 2:

Dang. Axiama just made it 1 to 1.

Update 3:

Quick answer for Bren:

Danny & Clyde's right now regular shrimp poboy is $2.99.

Parkway by Bayou St. John is always a winner.

If you find yourself on the North Shore, Bear's is awesome.

Those are my immediate choices. Some others: Parasol's, Crabby Jack's, Frankie & Johnny's.

Update 4:

Btb, special thanks to the "top contributor" who saw fit to answer my question, yet not read it.

I like my poboy made with oysters, with Mayo and dressed. And that roll better be soft. I have them when I go south on vacation.

I like mine with lettuce, onions, extra pickles, and hot sauce.

Source(s): I've lived in New Orleans my entire life. Every shrimp poboy I order is dressed with lettuce, onions, extra pickles and hot sauce. No ketchup, because I just don't like ketchup. I also love a hot roast beef debris poboy, extra gravy, extra onions... the kind you need a pile of napkins for because you get gravy up to your elbows... Mother's in the CBD especially! Charlie's Deli (ain't there no more) Sam's in Bucktown (still there) ... and all those little hole in the wall places from the Quarter to Bywater.... mmm... I live in the Marigny.
