Perhaps you are doing the same coursework as me at the moment? My question is "Why is the Holocaust significant?"
I managed to write a lot about a man called Oskar Schindler who you may be familier with from the film Schindler's List.
He started the war as a perpetrator and was a high-ranking Nazi but by the end of the war he managed to rescue over 1000 Jews from the death camps by getting them to work in his factories as a cover.
At the end of the war he fled from the Nazis and the Jews he had rescued were free to live.
He is now respected in the pathway of 'The righteous amongst the nations".
I managed to write two pages of A4 about him, if you google him then you are sure to find something.

What do you mean by Holocaust "rescuers"? People who helped shelter the Jews and others from the Nazis? The armies who liberated the concentration camps? There were many people who made little or big attempts to "rescue" people during the Holocaust, but you need to be more specific about what information you're looking for.

Thank you for the details. I don't think anyone's smart remarks have anything to do with your question so don't feel bad about it - when people say "the Holocaust", people assume you mean the one perpetrated by the Nazis, but yes, there were other holocaust instances throughout history. Now that we're clear on what you're looking for, one of your best sources may be to start with the website for the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C., found here: http://www.ushmm.org/
It might also help you to talk to Jewish organizations in your area. A local rabbi or someone from these groups would probably be happy to answer your questions.
Keep in mind that Jews were not the only ones singled out by the Nazis. Homosexuals, gypsies, and those with mental or phsyical disabilities were just some of the other groups killed, put in concentration camps, or forced to be victims of experiments. You'll want to address the fate of all the victims and those people who helped them survive.

Good grief. Does anyone realize that there has been more than one "Holocaust" in the history of humanity? Truly amazing how the Jews have managed to force the entire world to feel sorry for them, and not, say, the millions upon millions of Chinese, Russians and people of various other nations who were murdered under oppressive regimes. Give me a break. Please. "The Holocaust"...sheesh. To answer your actual question...no, I don't know of any other than, apparently, Oskar Schindler.
