Whats a good book?

Perhaps the Alex Cross series by James Patterson. It is mystery - very good books. Begins with 'Along Came a Spider'. I'm not sure if this what you are looking for - but Alex Cross is African American.

I can't think of any specific titles at the moment, but I am always searching for titles for my sons. I will tell you that many teenagers who are avid readers can handle adult literature quite well. You may want to search in the African American section of your online bookstore. Even younger teens can handle many books aimed at adults, especially in the mystery genre. I would just look at reviews or scan the book quickly to make sure that there isn't anything that is glaringly inappropriate.

He writes some compelling books also try this book i read called Make Lemonade I can't remember the author but it was a good read as well although the main character is a girl.

Go to Amazon.com and search:

"Lost from Atlantis Book 1" - Book 2 is going to be out in the next 6 weeks or so, Book 3 is written and in editing and will be out sometime in the next few months.

"Death by MURDER David Lindsay" - you have to search that way or it won't come up. There's lots of sex in that one.

"Super Spaghetti"

And the best part is, for now, they're all FREE. You can read them with Kindle Unlimited - if you don't have Kindle Unlimited Google how to get a free trial, and all those books are free. They can be read online, with a free Kindle phone app, or on a Kindle.

You've probably read Walter Mosley, but if you haven't you should definitely check him out. His Easy Rawlins mystery series is really good. George P. Pelecanos has a bunch of books where one of the protagonists is black and the books are really well written and suspenseful.

thats all i got but you should really read hoopster. these are my favorites.all of them mostly african american characters except im not sure about the first 2.
