Perhaps by percentage but keep in mind that the U.S. has many times more people than Canada.

Not in absolute terms; if 10% or more of the US population are atheists, then there are more atheists in the US than people in Canada. I'm pretty sure that there's a higher percentage of atheists in Canada, however.
(Top-of-my-head figures: US population of 300 million, 30 million Canadians).

Based on percentage? I don't know. I'll guess that no, they are still higher here. The people here have seen the true nature of religion.
I prefer the government in Canada to my own and that is sad.
The fundie disease has not infected the Canadian government and it is not ruled by extreme ignorance.

According to religioustolerance.org, in Canada there is about 16% Atheists and in the US 10%. But this is just an estimate.

Yes, Canada has more atheists than the US. Therefore they are Godless, and should be taken over by us. It is for their own good. Really, Canadians aren't accustomed to warm weather. Hell would be bad for them. Let us go up there, slaughter the non-believers and save those souls we can. It's their only hope.

I believe it is illegal to ask religious affiliation on census forms, and atheism is a non-religion, so no one can know for certain.
My guess is they would be comparable percentages.

well in what sense? if you just mean by population then of course because america's population is over 10 times that of canada's. but if you mean in a rationed sense, then they are probably about equal.
