Different Type Of In-Law Question?

Ahhhh.....how refreshing your question is!! I have a wonderful family of in-laws. I have been married for over 30 years.

My husband is one of 6 kids ages 45-60. We are all still married and have children and grandchildren of our own. What a fantastic group we make. We all live fairly close to each other with just a couple living under two hours away. We all get together regularly or even just spontaneously. We have even vacationed together.

My mother-in-law and father-in-law are gone now, sadly. But it was nothing for us to stop over at the drop of a hat and low and behold another sibling or grandchild would show up. Then the phone calls would start to each other. Hey come on over to mom and dad's were having a cook out. Hence the party would begin. My in-laws treated us as their own. There wasn't any favoritism between their children or their spouses.

My sister and her in-laws are the same way. Also our own parents were often included in both families celebrations.

Actually I was pretty much oblivious to all of this "out-law" stuff until my son got married. That's a whole different story!

Yes I did. We immeaditly got along. And like you I was excepted by my husband's brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews and parents. Right from the time we started dating. They weren't agansit the daughter I had with another man, they loved her and she loved them(she was 4 at the time). Sadly not everyone has the same expierence. But those few who DO have the GOOD relationship with their in-laws and not just their in-law parents, but the whole in-law family will have a special bond.

My in-laws are great for the most part. You know, everybody has their bad moments, but my in-laws are supportive and accepting. They lend a hand if we some help and we do the same for them.

they arent my in-laws yet...but will be soon enough and yes they ALL accept me for what and who i am and not only accept me but LOVE me too...they are awesome! i even get along with the ex wife!
