For the life of me I cant understand why?
1. Mean spirited iconoclasts take joy in trying to make people feel foolish for their beliefs.
2. Ranting religious fanatics believe that they will ever bring anyone 'into the fold' by condemning them and threatening them.
3. The humor challenged keep trying to be funny, but dont seem to understand that say, Carrot Top isnt funny, but George Carlin is.
To the 50% of you out there that this doesnt apply to, thanks for indulging me. I feel better now.

In a previous answer, you said:

This is woefully wrong.
If the Church was engaging in character assassination against Mary Magdalene, then why did the Church CANONIZE her?
Do you think the Church engages in character assassination against people by CANONIZING them?
No offense, but that makes no sense.
By identifying SAINT Mary Magdalene as a FORMER prostitute, the Church was NOT engaging in character assassination against her.
On the contrary, it was holding her up as a perfect example of how Christ's redeeming power could save any sinner who wants to be redeemed -- even a prostitute.
I hope this helps you see this issue a different way.
