Is nobody else excited about WSBK this weekend?

They've finished the first days qualifying at Qatar:

http://www.crash.net/motorsport/wsbk/news/159888-0...

But little or no interest on here about the first big race weekend of the year!

Anyone else be watching them on Saturday?

Update:

Shuggie has summed this up nicely so far - I too don't care where they're from (or what they're riding to be honest!) I love to see people racing!

Am away for the weekend and hosts don't have sky (!?****!!) so will try to find a good pub to watch it in, will raise a glass to all the race fans for the first biggy of the year - yippeee!

    Hi Dingo

    I'll be watching, cant wait.

I know its early days, but Ten Kate seem to be missing JT! 13th 21st & 25th!?

I know the Honda is a totally new bike this year, but so is the Duke, and look where they are. Even the Satelite boys (including Lanzi) are showing them up!

For sure I'll be watching and taking interest this year.

I don't care if there is a Brit or not in the class to be honest, it make it no more or less appealing to me. I am not surprised in some ways that Ten Kate are not showing well yet as I have never been convinced about their rider choice. I would have agreed on Sofuoglu (or how ever it is spelt) but Carlos definitely not and Riyo I am very unsure. They are both good riders but in Carlos case I would far rather it had gone to a younger guy and I have always liked Checa, so it is not personal. As for Kiyo well I think winning BSB and doing the same in WSBK is a huge difference. I have never been one to fully buy into the notion that we Brits have of our domestic series being the best and most competitive in the world. It is great racing and I love to watch it, don't get me wrong but I feel it very arrogant of us to say these things without having in depth knwoledge of the series in other countries outside of the AMA. I guess I may not be popular for that comment but that is all part of the debate. I do hope that Kiyo does well and yet again I will be delighted to publically eat humble pie if he walks off with loads of wins.

I am really pleased to see the 1098 in there. This really is so close to the homolgated road bike in the engine department that if it does well then any who complain about it will simply be spouting sour grapes and it will be testament to just what a great road bike Ducati have made.

Troy has announced that this will be his last season and I hope that he does go out with the number one plate. I will be at Brno again this year and in the paddock thanks to friends in high places so will make a point of seeking him out to say a big thanks for many great years.

I cant wait, although - like Wiggy - I'll be more interested in the WSS supporting my local interest Mr Rea. It is a bit strange with the WSBK not having a Brit on it - but racing is racing and it'll be a good warm up for a fortnights time!

Sorry babe, but I kinda gave up on W.S.B in the mid 90's. Even when his Lord-ship Sir Carlos of Fogarty was showing the world how to do it.

This years W.S.B will be good racing, as there is always talent in the class. Shame there is NO Brit boys in WSB this year however. 6 of our boys in the WSS however. My money is Johnny Rea to finish in the top 3 for the title race.

Troy [ Bayliss ] will wipe the floor this ( agian ) and then pick up his biggest ever pay deal from Ducati and more then likley quit. With any luck he may do another Val 06 and have a little ride on the 800 and win!! Who knows.

As for the British Supers, & the AMA, now these I will follow closley.

Source(s): Belting question babe, keep them coming.
