There are many concepts of what people consider best.

Some want the best price, others the best location, some the nicest rooms, and some just want to pay the most but still end up with a Motel 6 room with nice linens.

There are a wide variety of very nice hotels in San Antonio. If you are not familiar with the city, and are coming for a visit, I would recommend staying in Downtown or the Riverwalk, as these areas appeal most to our out of town visitors. Though some people like to be out near Sea World and the Fiesta Texas amusement park.

Some of the better San Antonio hotels are the Gaylord La Canterra and Omni San Antonio at the Colonade which are near Fiesta Texas . Hyatt Hill Country Resort, which is near Sea World. La Mansion del Rio, Hyatt Regency-Riverwalk, Hotel Valencia Riverwalk, Westin Riverwalk, Marriot Rivercenter, Watermark Hotel-Riverwalk, Marriot Plaza San Antonio, Hilton Palacio del Rio, Marriot Riverwalk, Emily Morgan Hotel all of which are in the downtown/Riverwalk area.

Also to be considered would be the Guenther Hotel, The St Anthony, and The Menger all of which are historic and beautiful hotels in the downtown area.

Another consideration in the downtown King William District on the river are some lovely bed and breakfasts. I would recommend the Noble Inns, which includes the Oge House, the Jackson House and the Carriage House. These have whirlpol tubs, pools and spas, but are in turn of the century Victorian Homes in the heart of the downtown area, right at the Riverwalk, and on the downtown trolley route, so use of the car is unnecessary. For South Padre as a hotel I would recomend the Radisson Resort or the Pennisula Island Resort (though the price is much higher). However, I think in South Padre getting a rental condo is a much better idea. For that I would try La Internacional Condos.

marriot down town is very nice ......as for padre island i really dont know but make sure its on the beach ...best condo in port aransas is the sandcastle resort....check out the web site on the bottom of the page ....hopefully you decide to visit...
