Experience on long distance relationships?

Positives and negitives? How long did it last? Would you do it again? If broke up why? Any advice?

Me and my boyfriend have had a long distance relationship for the last 8 months. We live 400 miles apart but he works for the airlines so we can fly for free. Me and him are having a hard time right now.

Update:

we both love each other so much, it's just the distance, our families, and finances.

Yes i'm very experienced in long distance relationships. Literally very long distance. He was in Egypt and I'm all the way here in crazy new york. Anyway, I met him over there through my friends and family. The first time I laid eyes on him, that was it. He was mine. So I was 17 and decided to fly to egypt during the summer time for 2 years. Then when I became 19, by that time we were talking every day on the phone (maybe twice a day). I was going crazy. Literally CRAZY. We got married at age 19. Then, I was visiting Egypt through college time. Taking courses over there. I was going to Eygpt twice a year. Sometimes 5 months at a time. I even got a job over there just to be with him. This WHOLE thing was hard, difficult, annoying, missing him like crazy. I mean I can't even explain to you the situation. I told myself that I wouldn't even recommend a long distance relationship to anyone because you just go through so much pain. And you can't even go out with any guys where you actually live because you feel as if you doing something wrong. So, your giving up a lot through a long distance relationship. I don't know. Kinda feel jailed in. That's how i felt. I felt frustrated because I missed him so much at times. I needed comfort, attention, love, and I didn't get it. But I was a good girl. Anyway, he's here in new york with me now and has been for the past 2 years and it's been amazing. I really love him so much. But bottom line, long distance relationships are hard girl. You have to have the patience and trust to go through it. Good luck if you do decide to.

I have had a few and they didn't last. I prefer friendships only. If you are having problems with him, you can't solve them online. Meet with him in person and talk. Have him come to your home town to talk. He'll get a good discount from the airline he works for. The future of most online relationships is not good, but I hope it works out for you.
