Have you quit smoking cig.......? I really need your advice.?
Went to see a kidney specialist today, because I am a diebetic, over weight, and smoke . He strongly suggest I quit smoking and diet before I end up having a heart attack.... In the past I have tried the patches which seemed to work if they would stay on my skin even when I would clean the area good before putting it on they wouldn't last very long. But I am very serious and would like to know what worked for you. How long have you quit and do you ever still crave them? Thanks for your answers.

Just stop smoking! Whoever smokes are dumb! Smoking shortens your life, and ruins your lungs.

Go to an acupuncturist. There are acupuncture points and herbs that can help alleviate the symptoms of withdrawal. As far as your husband is concerned, try to designate certain areas of the house that are ok places for him to smoke (preferably places where you do not spend much time). You want to avoid being around secondhand smoke as much as possible. Once you have quit for awhile, challenge your husband to a hundred yard dash. The result may shame him into wanting to quit smoking as well.

I quit three years ago. I had a cold and no desire to smoke, so after a week (when I felt better) I decided to try to stick with it. Good thing I did because two months later I was pregnant (maybe the quitting helped me get there!). I still have cravings, but knowing that I am keeping myself in better health for myself and my family makes it worth it. Plus, I always tell myself how nasty smoke is when I am around it to try and condition myself to not like it.
As far as weight loss, try Weight Watchers - I had it recommended to me last August and lost 30 pounds!

I've heard that hypnotherapy works. Look up 'hypnotherapy' in your phone book. They can pretty much hypnotyze you into getting nauseated when you see a cig.

Join www.quitnet.com and watch the video below. I used the patch and will power. Just don't buy them anymore and don't have them around you.
Good luck
You can do it.
