Driving for celebrities?

My Mom is an OTR Trucker and is interested in Driving the Riggs for NASCAR racing Teams or other such Celebrities. Does any one know how she could get information on applying for such jobs?

I would contact some of the event planning companies, like the company that oranizes and promotes marathons, concerts...any major event. Those people are connected.

I would also try and reach some of the owners or affiliates of the teams that are on the circuit. Here's another idea: Contact some of the people who are on the pit crews, or people who are on the racing teams, but not the drivers themselves.

I would start with a letter to a handful or "targets" she decides to focus on - let's say 10. In a couple of weeks, send another. Wait 2 more weeks and send a third. Make sure the letters are positive and genuine. They should experess passion for what you do, and an earnest desire to speak with someone about the opportunity to be affiliated with the team...etc.

Wait another week or two, and then try to make contact through the team's office. After 3 days, follow up with a letter to let the contact know that you tried to reach them.

Basically, you need to be professional, persistant and methodical. Do not take it personally, if nobody responds immediately; just stay the course, and you will at least get an ap[propriate response at some point.

Also, I would set a limit for your own sanity, like: If you have to write a 10th letter, it should say, that you are sorry that there was no opportunity to speak about potential opportunities with ________ Team, but I understand you are very busy. For now, it seems like you are well taken care of and that's great, but I hope you would consider speaking with me if you come to the point you may be looking for someone else to drive your Rigs.

I suggest this route, because I don't think these are posted jobs - these are jobs for people in the know, and you can help yourself by just stepping into their world with some old fashioned letters.

Those Nascar jobs are darn near impossible to get. Understandably, their drivers have the cushiest job in the industry, so job openings don't come often, and there are huge waiting lists. Still, the best thing I can suggest, if she's already out on the road, is to keep her eyes peeled for any race transport drivers and try to ask them questions over the CB or when she bumps into them at truck stops!

But there are plenty of jobs hauling for concert tours, art shows, etc....the person before me gave a few good companies that specialize in that sort of thing, but here's one more:
