Why is pokémon bashed?

I agree with you, people should respect it. After all it made a whole lot more money than most people ever will.

I'm not bashing it here, i'm just explaining why:

- It's childish; it really is for a younger audience

- It's been popular for a while, but gone out of style, and although the games are still popular the rest of the franchise isn't so much

- The sheer number of questions about pokemon that show up here is a little ridiculous

- Ever watch the show? You would understand why people may not like the franchise in general, but i personally agree that the game should stand alone from the crapiness of the tv show and movies

- notice with each new game the pokemon become a little more ridiculous and generic? I think gold and silver were when the actual monsters were at their prime, but they've been forced now to get a little too creative...

I used to love pokemon but I grew out of it and got hooked on other animes like naruto, bleach, and deathnote. I agree with you. ( I still play the games and kept the Thousands of cards that i had collected)

because some ppl dont like pokemon,maybe cuz they look kind of cute in a way.but i LOVE pokemon! u wanna try and diss the game,BRING IT ON! atleast i dont spend my time playing some stupid game where all i do is steal cars and shoot people! AND U LEARN THINGS FROM GOOD GAMES THAT DONT DEAL WITH VIOLENCE! and pokemons not that violent.so HA

some say its been lingering on for to long. their 'flogging a dead horse' as the saying goes. others say its just for little kids and its past its prime. also with 400+ different pokemon out there its just gonna keep growing and growing. but hey i still love the video games they make!

its fine though for us people who do like this crud its our problem catch my drift and pokemon is just fun weird thats all still fun to play though
