Does anybody know about the waikiki gateway hotel. Is it a nice hotel to stay in for 7 days?

yes it is.....i mean..... you probably will only be there to shower, change and sleep....so you dont need a top of the line room.
Just get out and enjoy hawaii

I am planning my third trip to Hawaii in May. The first two times we stayed in a more "budget" hotel. They were off the beaten path and the view was only of other buildings.
This time, we have decided to upgrade to a hotel on the beach, with an oceanfront view....I am looking forward to going to bed at night and waking up in the morning with the sight of the ocean....having a cup of coffee on the balcony in the morning...and just having the complete Hawaii experience.
Seriously, you only get to Hawaii once in a while...you are already spending quite a bit to get there anyway...so, why not go all the way, and make the complete trip really cool....I think it will be worth it...

I am with Hawaiian Dee. I paid $195 a night fir 10 nights and maybe spent 9-10 hours a day in there. So I paid $1,950.00 To spend 90 hours in a room!!!! You beat you A** I wont do that again. When we go back I am staying with family or at a motel 8!!! I also have not stayed at the gateway but It does look very nice. I hope its worth it!

It's at the entrance to Waikiki at the intersection of Kalakaua and Kuhio Ave. - the 2 most busy streets in Waikiki It's a hike to the beach and in a very noisy section. I'd pass.

I've been to waikiki 3 times...I agree with some that you're barely going to spend time in your room - so keep that in mind.
Here are a few sites that I am almost certain will help you...I personally used them for my trips:
http://www.sharinghawaii.com/ (for advise, info about things to do, and tons of pics)
www.tripadvisor.com (for reviews of hotels...testimonials)
Good luck and have ton of fun! Aloha!

I have not stayed there, but the impression that I have is that it is "nice enough". In other words, it isn't like a Motel 6, but there's not a lot about it that is going to make you go "wow".
