If one asks a direct question concerning Jehovah's Witnesses and subsequently blocks their answers?

. . . then does that one really want a sincere answer or is he in all probability seeking validation for his own preconceived position?

Update:

I see what you are trying to show me, synopsis, but if you mean to imply a parallel between what askers do on this board and what Witnesses do in their door to door work, you yourself acknowledged a key difference: Witnesses do not seek truth when they go out in their ministry. They primarily seek to speak to people about the Bible. Those asking direct questions on this board about Witnesses, however, are seeking answers to those questions. I would think they are seeking truthful answers as well.

Update 2:

No Lioness, I did not report you. Yes, I commented that you asked several questions in one fell swoop although I would not call it "taking you to task." You are aware that it is improper to ask so many questions under the guise of one. But no, I did not report you. I have made a few reports and only involving those posters who use foul language which somehow slips under the radar. Foul language is inappropriate - many children come here. But to set the record straight, no I did not report you.

Update 3:

Isnrblog: I can see your position, but really, I asked a question that merited a simple response. You touched on other subjects that really have nothing to do with my question - even going so far as to ask "If JW's are so smart, then answer me this . . ." You may have valid questions but asking them as you did has no bearing on the present issue. Do you see what I mean?

Update 4:

Yvonne D, you commented that Grandpa calls people names. Granted. Shall you block him? One poster called Grandpa a "foolish old man." Shall you block him tool? Another poster called JW's cultish twice in his response. That is name-calling. So, is he going to be blocked?

Lioness, I don't know what I would do if I were you. Probably ignore it. I have so often ignored the hateful things that you say.

ExJW, I have not requested that you stop posting questions, have I? On the contrary, I am looking for an answer to my question. I sincerely wanted to know generally speaking, why certain ones are blocked. And specifically speaking, why I was blocked from a poster who directs dozens of questions to Jehovah's Witnesses. No need t name the person. But I have always been respectful to that one – never calling names, never slandering. And that person has acknowledged that. Still, suddenly I am blocked. Tit for tat? What tat?

Update 5:

My reasoning is this: many people intensely dislike particular groups or persons for particular reasons. That is understandable. As a free moral agent, you may like or dislike whomever you wish. But it stands to reason that if your question revolves solely around a particular person or group, you would allow them the opportunity to answer. Else it is like a trial where the plaintiff watches from the table while his attorney fires dozens of questions to every witness that takes the stand. But the defendant and all defense witnesses are barred from the room. Where is the sense in that?

Linedancer, Satan asked a question, not to get info, but to plant a wrong idea. That nailed it. Deke and Lucid Interrogator, thank you for your comments. Right on time. And very much on point.

What the heck do you think this board is for?

The percentage of people who actually come in here with an open mind, willing to change it at the first suggestion of difference..... is negligable.

Most of us come here with our minds made up and are determined to tell everyone who disagrees that they are wrong. Everyone has their mouths open and their ears closed.

I have read through all of the responses and Yvonne D and Isnrblog's posts are very sensible and compelling. I know of many Christians here who have been falsely violated because trolls simply do not like their Q&As, because they are exposing error and falsehoods. I can understand why some who have been falsely violated would block those whom they suspect are behind the false violations, so that they aren't able to stalk them with ill intent. On YA, if you are a predator, blocking is the mace. lol Apparently, it's survival of the fittest in this forum.

To hear of the tactics that some here are saying the JW have employed does not really surprise me as I have seen this same tactic used by cultists on other forums. JWs and the Mormon cult, in particular, love to cry persecution when the tables are turned on them, but they always conveniently forget to mention the little matter of fact to the effect that they attacked others (especially TRUE CHRISTIANS) first. This trend, in fact, goes all the way back to their founders, who attacked all of Christendom as evil, heretical, blasphemous, etc. However, TRUE CHRISTIANS are called, in Scripture, to always be ready with a defense for the Christian faith. Yet, when we do so, suddenly, we are the ones doing the persecution. This would be laughable if it were not so pathetically sad!

It has not escaped notice by TRUE CHRISTIANS who have seen JW publications, how JWs view everyone else in the world as beneath them, even depicting everyone on earth as being mercilessly slaughtered by their Jehovah, while only smiling JWs walk away, unscathed, from the wreckage. Anyone who has ever seen these pics knows exactly what their group thinks of every living non-JW person on this earth: man, woman, and child. Yes, even TRUE CHRISTIANS! Yet, they hollar about persecution when they are called on it. Gimme a break!

This Q is just another smoke screen, that is so typical of the cultist groups who thrive by redirecting attention away from the real issues, such as false prophecies, false doctrines, preaching another gospel entirely and even a different Jesus than found in Scripture. Yet, they wonder why TRUE CHRISTIANS get hot under the collar because of such blasphemies! I guess some TRUE CHRISTIANS might block them so that they can't use their questions as a vehicle to spread falsehoods and twisted texts. I wonder what Jesus will say when he returns? I'm betting it will be: "Get away from me. I never knew you!"

  • I would only block a person who follows me or my friends and gives non-answers. I always leave my e-mail option open so if I have wrongfully blocked someone, they have the change to ask me to lift the block.

I understand you are Jehovah's Witness. I see you give good answers, and I would not probably block you. I do not blame people who block people who do not answer the question but make unrelated nasty remarks.

You as Jehovah's Witness claim to have the truth. So WHY ever would ANY JW compromise the integrity and give hateful answer.

I think it is great that we communicate about our different teachings. It is your organization that forbids you from keeping the contact with people who think negatively of your teachings.

Jesus Christ is the Truth. He is the Way. He is the Life. He is our Lord God and Savior. If you do not believe that, you are not following the truth.

Only certain trolls are blocked because they are cowards and report simply because the fact that they are to ignorant of the Scriptures. They brag and brag about how much they "study" the bible and door to door work, and pioneer work, yet they can't tell the difference between the front cover and the rear cover of the Bible.

Always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 2 Tim. 3:7

Grandpa is a foolish old man who doesn't understand anything because he's spiritually discerned as are all jw's. (1 Cor. 2:14) If he was wise as most old people should be, he should examine the watchtower to see who's really lying.

Remember this, that the enemy has reproached, O LORD,And that a foolish people has blasphemed Your name. Ps. 74:18

Arise, O God, plead Your own cause;Remember how the foolish man reproaches You daily. Ps. 74:22

Wise people store up knowledge, But the mouth of the foolish is near destruction. Prov. 10:14

The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly, But the mouth of fools pours forth foolishness. Prov. 15:2

I have only blocked the ones who have hateful attitude to my questions.

Of course we want sincere answers, but I do not believe JWs have the truth. They might be sincere, but they are lost.

I ask here also to educate others. I am here to learn, and I like it when JWs actually give the answers. All of you cannot copy and paste from the same answers, so some of you are left out with the change to answer, and they seem to be more eager to slander the questioner.

I have learnt so much about Jehovah's Witnesses and the Watchtower oragnization! I do not agree with all the teachings. That is why I am not JW.

You know this question reminded me of the public talk we had this sunday and the reminder that was enfasized. It enfasized that Jehovah, His son, Jesus and His angels are the ones that are guiding his work of preeching to all of humanity. We are basically just His workers and if people reject us like they did to Jesus Christ in his days here on earth, then they are not rejecting US per say, but they are rejecting the invitation that God gives us all. The invitation to get to know Him and serve Him so that He is pleased with us. Instead of serving Him in a way that doesn't please Him but please others including his biggest enemy. Ok I'm getting kinda carried away into another subject. Sorry. LOL In short I'm with Grandpa, Granny and Linedancer.

I personally do not block anyone.

I have asked some pretty probing questions, only to get them removed by Witnesses.

I agree with Yvonne D: "I know for a fact that Witnesses are blocked because Witnesses take their disfellowshipping practices and use them here, to silence people who have been associated with their faith, and have left."

Hey, if you can;t answer it or it is embarrassing, remove it.

TONY RC: "We are basically just His workers and if people reject us like they did to Jesus Christ in his days here on earth, then they are not rejecting US per say, but they are rejecting the invitation that God gives us all."

I love this line of reasoning: Doing their level best to annoy everyone, the JW's 1) come up with some really off the wall beliefs and quotes in their literature 2) flip flop and make false prophesies for example on Armageddon first 1914, 1941, 1975, the end of the 20th Century and now hinting at 2034. 3)Tell everyone that if you're not a JW you're going to die, to mention a few things.

Then, when everyone is thoroughly pissed, it's because JW's are being persecuted in Jesus name and the rest of us are "rejecting the invitation that God gives us all."

Like my little sister who used to used to do everything to piss me off and when I smacked her, it was my fault.

If all you JW's are so smart explain these quotes. Pardon my redundancy, but I've put them out 3 or 4 times with no answer:

From: The Nations Shall Know That I Am Jehovah - How? 1971 p. 216:

JEHOVAH’S “SWORD” AGAINST “ALL THOSE OF FLESH”

9 Shortly, within our twentieth century, the “battle in the day of Jehovah” will begin against the modern antitype of Jerusalem, Christendom."

Did I miss something? Isn't the 20th Century over? Wasn't this quote from 1971, before 1975?

Also this from "The Truth Shall Make You Free" (1943) pp.284-285, ch.XXii "THE TIME OF THE END"

"Man on earth can no more get rid of these demonic "heavens" than man can by airplane or rockets or other means get up above the air envelope which is about our earthly globe and in which man breathes. God alone can and will deliver humankind from such demon powers of control."

Man can't travel in space! Alert NASA!!

There are hundreds of wrong, loony and contradictory quotes in Jehovah's Witness literature.

Again, I ask, what are JW's afraid of?? If you have the truth, it will always clearly win out over any lie.

The above two quotes were at the time considered the "Truth". What would have happened if you openly disagreed with these points then? You would have been disfellowshipped.

As one poster asked, why didn't God give you the truth all at once? Name one problem it would have caused.

LINEDANCER: I've asked numerous questions and you have yet to answer one. Explain the two obviously wrong quotes from your literature.

Let me help you "Oh, we're imperfect" Than why should anyone listen to anything the Watchtower Society says? They are no better than any of us here on Q&A......no wait, "they are led by God".

God led them to publish the above loony stuff??? The Watchtower Society is imperfect, but led by God. Use which ever defense fits. It's circular easoning.

If a man lies to you once, everything he says after that is suspect.

Most likely the latter of the two.

    2 Tim 4:3,4

For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories

So far 6 thumbs up for gramps. You all agree with his slander?

I think your question should apply to your brothers and sisters.

They are not having their accounts closed in mass for asking questions.

We have been abused by the organization that you dedicate your life to. We have just as much right to be heard as you do.

The mass silencing of the exJW's has got to stop. We will not stop posting questions. We will just create more accounts.

Eventually you will all be blocked because of the actions of a few.

Edit: I have yet to see a witness ask a question that they did not already have the answers to. Your premise is hypocritical...you are not looking for answers. You only wish to make a point to further your ministry.

You can not think us disingenuous without realizing that you are doing the exact same thing.

HanahJP...It has been brought to our attention, just who is doing all of the reporting, those Witnesses will be blocked. Period...end of story...I also block those who call me names.

We can have adult q/a or we can all act like Kids.

I know for a fact that Witnesses are blocked because Witnesses take their disfellowshipping practices and use them here, to silence people who have been associated with their faith, and have left.

You have set up the dynamic..It started with Trishaltha's list and Heavenly Eyes took it and ran with it...It is YOUR problem...You deal with your brothers and sisters.

Grandpa is a classic example of what we are talking about...doesn't like what someone says...calls names ...slanders and then trys to have accounts closed...I rest my case.
