How to get rid of smoke smell FAST??

I am renting a house that I'm not supposed to smoke in, but I do anyways-cigarettes and pot. I just found out I have 2 days until my landlord is comming over so I need the quickest, most effective way to get rid of the smell. The good news is there is no carpet-it's all hardwood. any suggestions are greatly appreciated and I'm not interested in any rude comment about my smoking habits. Thank you.

Wow! These people want you to put alot of muscle into this!! LOL I agree with opening the windows and using the fresh linen scent Fabreeze on everything, mostly the fabric items. But 4 or 5 large bottles of it, not the aerolsol, but the spray. Spray everything in the mornings and before you go to bed. Smoke does find it's way into everything so spray into cabinets, drawers and closets. Your clothing will probably have more smoke smell on them than you would think so be sure to get your clothing and coat closets and linen closets good.

You don't want to mix a bunch of smells because it will not smell good. Buy some fresh linen candles and wall plugs. If you're going to be there when the landlord comes, burn the candles then.

Hide and wash all the ashtrays too!

Oh, whatever door the landlord will be coming in through, spray the most there. First smell is everything!

I liked the idea of having a non-smoker come in and taking a whiff for you. And not smoking in the house until after the visit.

Good luck and be thankful for the 2 day notice!!!

Vinegar usually absorbs the odors of everything. Wash countertops, and other hard surfaces w/the vinegar. Also, Pinesol brand cleaner has a very strong smell. Use it striaght, don't water it down. Use that to clean everything. Open up all your windows no matter how cold it is. Don't smoke inside the house until after he leaves. (You shouldnt be smoking at all)

You might be immune to the smell so have a friend come in and let you know if they can still smell the smoke. Remmeber that your clothes and even YOU might smell like smoke. Put you jacket away and wash all your clothes.

first, open the doors and windows and air the place out well. turn on the exhaust fan in your bathroom. vacuum all floors and soft furnishings. damp wipe all surfaces, including walls. this stuff is very good at getting rid of ssmoke smells and is often used after fires. you can dilute to different strengths to clean and to use as air freshener...if it's not available where you live, any orange based product will help.

wash all your bedding and washablecutains, etc.. use febreeze on your soft furnishings put a pot of water on the stove, add cinnamon and cloves and simmer.

if your landlord stills smells smoke, at least your house will be almost move out clean!

Smoking in a home leaves a tar residue on everything in the home. the best way to get rid of the smell is to get rid of the tar residue. Scrub the walls and floor, wash the curtains, fabreze all your furniture, and plug in a few air fresheners around the place to cover up anything left lingering over. If he says anything about smelling a hint of cigarette smoke, tell him that you go outside to smoke, but sometimes it follows you into the house when you come back through the door.

    Good Luck!!!

Don't expect miracles; however, what you need to do is exchange the air is the house several times. Open the front door and the back door, place a box fan in the front, blowing in, and one in the back, blowing out.

Since smoke tends to go up, you will probably need to scrub the ceilings with 6pts water 1pt amonia. Also, any curtains/funiture will need to be sprayed w/Fabreeze.

    Hope this helps.

This is not intended to be a rude comment. but respecting other people's property is always a good thing to do. I get the feeling you've leared from this.

The quickest and most effective way to get smoke out completely and permanently is with the use of ozone. There are small machines that produce safe levels of ozone but I'm not sure where you might find one quick enough. Cleaning all hard surfaces(walls, floors, cabinets, windows etc) with a general purpose cleaner would be the quickest way
