Has anyone read about the new racing dome ?

They are planing to build a 3000 acre dome in Klamath, Oregon ,how many people do you think will end up sick from fumes & deaf from the noise ? Sounds cool but seems impractical for the money it will cost.

Its just some guys opinion. Its not gonna really happen. The costs would be way too high which would be passed on as way too high ticket prices.

The closest we will see to this is the Chili Bowl in Tulsa OK.

Monster truck rallys will produce nothing compared to a 400+ mile race with 43 other drivers. They talked about this in Pittsburgh before. I dont see it ever happening. Maybe if they created a track that was covered over the track and the actual stands and left the infield open so that the exhaust can leave, would work. Weather would never be an issue and wouldnt have to worry about the ventilation.

I havent Heard that--But I dont think it would work--YES I believe people would suffer hearing loss and get ill from the Smoke and Fumes!!!!!!-----I have seen people Get sick at Indoor or Domed Arenas at Monster truck Jams and Motorcycle Events. And these events are not Continuous for 4 or 5 Hours and 400 or 500 Miles or Laps!!!!!!

Would be kind of cool if they made it partly enclosed. The stands and the track could be covered but part of the infield could be left open to allow the fumes and noise to escape. This could work well for tracks like Bristol or Martinsville.

Just think of the size.....yes size does matter.

3000 acres = 130,680,000 sf. to make a "square" arena for the track it would have to be 11,431 ft by 11, 431 ft. (that's 2.1651 MILES by 2.1651 MILES)

I really doubt that they could..

    a. make a structure that size.

    b. sell the idea to investors.

    c. get the state to allow construction of it.

Sorry, it is just a rumor.

Source(s): But I digest..... Just my 2 cents.

It is a rumor, but I suppose it could be done. They have Monster trucks, Motocross, tractor pulls, etc. indoor events, so they could probably have races too. They have terrific ventilation systems in the arenas.

If this is true, its a bad idea. NASCAR is great because you are outside, and you feel the breaze. The night races are awesome, racing under the stars. I just think its a bad idea. I think we should dtick to the basics.

I have never heard anything about this. I do not think this would work. Like you said, it would be impossible to vent.

Hmm, I would think that we do not have enough rain dates really to make that something they have to do...
