Songwriting advice?

Hi everyone--I was wondering what your opinions are of this song I've written. I know that the lyrics are simple, but let me tell you that there's a beautiful melody that I've written for them, so I think it works.

In recent days

I find myself not knowing where to turn.

I guess I’ve still got a lot to learn

In recent days

I find my mind denying

All the signs that my heart is cying.

So where do I go

Now that I feel so low?

And how can I move on?

I just can’t be that strong.

And I can’t find the will to leave you behind

Because you’re always in my mind.

In recent nights

There’s always a tear sliding down my face.

I dwell on that other time and place.

In recent nights
